"Did she eat it?"

"Fine," Yvonne muttered to herself. "We'll only know the specifics later. She's getting out of class soon. Let's go give her another grand gift. Money talks. I refuse to believe she can escape my grasp."

Meanwhile, because Vance Leavitt failed his lunchtime quiz, a furious Amber had dragged him by the ear, forcing him to stay after school and do practice questions under Tillie Taylor's supervision while she packed her bag and headed home.

The moment she stepped out of the school gates, she spotted Yvonne's Porsche Cayenne parked right in front. The assistant and bodyguards greeted her with bright smiles. "Class is dismissed. Ms. Sargent would like to have a proper chat with you. Please, get in."

Amber's grip on her backpack straps tightened. The woman was like a lingering ghost.

The car door opened, but Yvonne didn't step out. Dressed in head-to-toe couture, she called out, "Get in. Do me the honor of joining me for dinner."

Amber wanted to walk away, but the bodyguards blocked her path. Yvonne's relentless harassment had been a nightmare in her past life, and in this one, it was just beginning.
