Joanne hadn't expected Miles to pick her up personally.

When she crossed the street from the salon and turned the corner, she saw Miles leaning against the hood of his Rolls-Royce in a sharp yellow suit, his arms crossed over his chest.

He looked like a professional car model.

This was Joanne's first time interacting with a man of his caliber. His charming eyes and the aura of absolute wealth radiating from him were enough to convince her that even if she only slept with him once, it would be a story she could brag about for the rest of her life.

"Mr. Yates, why did you come personally? Didn't you say you were sending your assistant?"

Joanne feigned surprise, though she was genuinely thrilled. If Miles had come himself, didn't that mean he was just as interested in her as she had hoped?

Miles had brought the car around the moment she texted him to wait twenty minutes.

He was handsome and drove an incredibly expensive car. Although several women had approached him while he waited, he had ignored them all.

He had spotted Joanne the second she walked out of the salon across the street. Up close, his eyes glinted with appreciation. She definitely had the capital to captivate men. With just a little effort, she knew exactly how to trigger a man's hormones.

"I had some free time. Since it's our first time meeting, I couldn't be rude. Hop in, sweetheart. Let me take you to the yacht."

Joanne's cheeks flushed bright red.

Sure enough, men were at their most intoxicating when they smelled like endless money.

"Thank you so much, Mr. Yates."

She acted incredibly sweet and docile, completely unaware that Lucian was watching the entire scene unfold from behind.

He watched her smile radiantly, acting as if she were already deeply involved with Miles as she climbed into his car and let him drive her away.

They seemed to be having a wonderful time chatting. At the very least, Lucian didn't see a single trace of displeasure on Joanne's face.

She looked happy. Overjoyed, even.

The taxi driver trailing them couldn't entirely figure out the dynamic, but he had seen plenty in his line of work. "Kid, is the girl in the passenger seat your sister? Let me give you some advice: keep a close eye on her. Rich guys love girls like that."

"Do you want to call her and tell her to go home? Tell her not to run off with wealthy guys. Or call your parents and have them reel her in."
