Amber was busy with her preparations for the Physics Olympiad.

In her previous life, she had participated as well, but after securing second place, she stepped aside for Lucian's sake.

Reborn, knowing Lucian already had the answers, they would inevitably end up in a tiebreaker.

She hadn't touched this material in over a decade. If she didn't review the tiebreaker topics, she wouldn't feel confident.

Ever since Vance received the laptop from Amber, he had swapped seats with a classmate to sit near her.

Holding his physics textbook, he watched her walk into the classroom and immediately start reviewing. He wanted to talk to her but was afraid of interrupting.

So, like a shy puppy, he hid behind his textbook, occasionally sneaking glances, desperately hoping she would look his way.

Vance wanted to slap himself. He was a six-foot-tall guy acting totally ridiculous. If he liked her, he should just say it. But the finals were right around the corner, and a confession might ruin her focus.

He couldn't sabotage her future, but...

"Have you finished the practice sets I gave you?"

Amber suddenly looked up. Vance froze like a deer in headlights. His heart hammered against his ribs, and his face turned the color of a boiled lobster. Unable to form a coherent sentence, he grabbed his textbook and bolted out of the room.

A classmate blinked in surprise. "What's up with Vance? Food poisoning?"

Lucian was also reviewing his physics textbook. Joanne didn't bother him, but her phone vibrated relentlessly. If it weren't for the $50,000, she wouldn't have bothered sitting in evening study hall.

Because the senior finals were approaching, the teachers were relatively lenient during evening study. When Amber's phone buzzed, Tillie glanced at her.

"If the teacher does a headcount, just say I went to the restroom," Amber whispered.

Tillie nodded.

Lucian glared at Amber, his eyes darkening. Seeing Amber walk out with her phone, Joanne quickly followed suit. "Lucian, I'm going to the restroom too. Keep studying, I'll be right back."
