Under the Veil I Rule (Amara) novel Chapter 913

Amara bit her lip and looked up. "Dad, my decision is not to get back together. I won't reunite with Finnian. I want to terminate the pregnancy."

The answer didn't surprise Larry.

According to Finnian, he had been actively pursuing her. If Amara had any intention of taking him back, she would have done so ages ago instead of planning a procedure now.

He nodded. "If you don't want him, then don't take him back. He isn't the only man in the world. You'll have plenty of options later on."

Amara didn't dare admit that she never wanted to get married again. Instead, she just nodded. "That's what I thought too, Dad. I'm going to head back to the hospital now. You can head home first; I'll handle the rest on my own."

Larry stood up. "I'll go with you. I don't have anything urgent to deal with anyway."

Since he had planned to accompany her for the procedure today, he had cleared his schedule in advance. Skipping the office entirely wouldn't be an issue.

Amara nodded, and she, along with Larry and Elysia, made their way back to Wye General Hospital.

Even though she had missed her initial call for the operating room, hospital policy dictated that her appointment wouldn't expire until five in the afternoon. Returning now meant she could still get the procedure done.

But when she found her doctor near the operating room, the woman looked deeply conflicted. "Ms. Sullivan, I'm so sorry, but we can no longer perform the late-term abortion procedure for you."

Amara frowned. "Why not? My appointment hasn't expired. It's not even noon yet."

The doctor lowered her gaze. "Ms. Sullivan, I truly apologize. We just can't do it. You'll have to find another facility for the procedure."

She kept repeating the same excuse like a broken record. A fiery anger flared in Amara's chest, but she wasn't mad at the doctor or the hospital. Her fury was directed entirely at Finnian.
