“It’s my place, so make yourself at home. No need to feel like you’re imposing,” Ethan assured her.
“Thanks, Ethan. So, will you be staying there too?” Arabella asked, glancing at him.
“Not sure yet. I might go back to the main house or I might not.” Ethan himself was undecided.
“Okay.”
As they spoke, Arabella’s car pulled up outside Kindwell Hospital.
“We’re here. Do you need the car?” Arabella askel Ethan.
“No, I’ll just grab a cab.”
“So Edward’s in there?” Ethan glanced up at the Hospital building.
“Yep.”
“Alright, you go on up. I’m fine,” Ethan said.
“It’s okay, I’ll wait until you get a cab,” Arabella insisted.
Ethan gave her an affectionate look, then hailed a passing taxi and left.
Once Ethan’s cab was out of sight, Arabella got back into her own car.
Sitting in the driver’s seat, she looked up at the hospital windows.
She decided against going up to see Edward just then–it might give him the impression she wasn’t taking her other work seriously.
With that thought, Arabella started the car and beaded toward her private studio.
After so many hectic days, she finally had some me to do something purely for herself.
Pushing open the studio door, she was envelope by a familiar sense of calm.
This was the one place where she could shut out the world and simply be, enjoying peaceful, undisturbed solitude.

She poured herself a glass of water and looked at the clean easel by the wall. She moved it over to the window where the light was good.
Then, she prepared her palette with fresh paints and set it nearby.
Settling into her chair, she gazed out the window, letting her mind wander.
A beautiful, vivid scene began to form in her imagination.
Picking up a brush, she started transferring the image in her mind onto the canvas.
Before long, a completed painting sat before her
Arabella looked at it with satisfaction–this one should fetch a nice price.
She picked up her phone and texted Colton.
“Stop by the studio when you’re free. Just finished a piece–help me find a buyer.”
“You’re at the studio? Perfect. If you have the time, you should paint a few more. Inventory has been running low lately, and demand has been high,” Colton replied.
“Really? Why didn’t you tell me sooner?”
“Alright then, I’ll do a few more,” Arabella said, pleasantly surprised.
She had just come here to unwind and paint casually. She hadn’t realized business on Colton’s end was so brisk.
All her previous works must have sold out already.
If she’d known, she would have made time to paint earlier.
Setting her phone down, Arabella picked up her brush again. Inspiration struck, and she began to paint with free, natural strokes.
Somehow, her hand moved faster and faster across the canvas, almost as if it had a mind of
its own.
By the time she paused to take a breath, the room was filled with striking new paintings.
“Goodness, how did I finish so many so quickly? Arabella murmured, looking around in
amazement.
No, she had to stop–otherwise, there’d be no walking space left in the studio today.
So she set down her brush and stood up to stretch.

Sitting for so long had left her feeling a bit stiff.
She picked up her phone and took photos of everything she’d finished that day.
Looking at the results on her screen, Arabella smiled to herself.

Then she sent another message to Colton, “Come pick them up whenever. This time, you can set the prices higher.
“And remember–no sales to anyone in my family!” Arabella added firmly.
“Got it. Nothing like last time will happen again.
Arabella checked the time. Naomi should be done with her flight lessons by now, she figured.
With that thought, she put down her water glass, cleaned her brushes, and left the studio.
