Naomi and Ruby made their way down the quiet corridor. Ruby glanced around and whispered, “Naomi, which classroom is it?”

“Shh, keep your voice down. I think I hear someone teaching up ahead,” Naomi said, putting a finger to her lips.

“The sound is coming from down this hall,” Ruby observed.

“Let’s go see.”

As they moved closer, a tall figure at the front of the room came into Ruby’s line of sight.

Her eyes lit up with excitement. “Naomi, look! Is that him?”

Naomi took a quick glance and nodded. “Yes, that’s him.”

“We can’t really see his face from here. What if we sneak in and pretend we’re supposed to be there?” Ruby suggested eagerly.

“Okay. Let’s go in quietly through the back so we don’t interrupt,” Naomi agreed, assuming the room was full of students given how engaged the instructor seemed.

“Deal,” Ruby said.

Then, Naomi gently pushed open the rear door to the classroom, and the two of them slipped inside as quietly as they could.

Lucas was fully focused on Arabella and didn’t notice the newcomers.

Once Naomi and Ruby had settled into seats at the back, they cautiously looked

When they saw that the large classroom contained only two people, their eyes widened in surprise.

“Naomi, why are there only two people here?” Ruby whispered to Naomi, completely puzzled.

“Never mind that. The guy teaching up front is the handsome instructor I told you about,” Naomi said, nodding toward him.

Ruby fixed her gaze. A tall, well–built figure stood at the front, his sharp, clean–cut features. making her heart skip a beat.

He instinctively glanced over and spotted two unfamiliar figures sitting in the back row.

The smile vanished from his face. Forgetting Arbella was beside him, he raised his voice sharply. “Who’s there?!”

Naomi and Ruby, who had been focused on the familiar figure, were completely caught off guard by his sharp tone.

Their confused eyes snapped from the student Lucas‘ now–pale face.

“Oh no, Ruby. We’ve been spotted,” Naomi blurted out under her breath.

At the same moment, Arabella turned to look behind her.
