After taking a few steps, Naomi suddenly stopped as if something had just dawned on her. She looked at Ruby with a hint of panic in her eyes. “Robert met Arabella here at the house… Does that mean he knows Arabella is part of the Hamilton family now?”

“Grandfather would definitely introduce her to Robert, wouldn’t he? So Robert must know Arabella is the Hamiltons‘ biological granddaughter. Then I…” The more Naomi thought about it, the more uneasy she felt. She unconsciously clenched her hands.

Her gaze grew distant as she stared in the direction Arabella had gone. She didn’t dare take another step forward.

Hearing Naomi’s words, Ruby’s heart also sank for a moment. Then an idea struck her, and she tried to sound reassuring. “Naomi, don’t assume the worst just yet. Maybe Robert doesn’t know about her identity. Let’s go inside and see first.”

Naomi looked at Ruby helplessly and felt her words made sense. “You’re right. Since we’re here, we should at least go in and see what’s happening. Let’s go.”

With that, Naomi walked toward the main hall with Ruby, her heart filled with anxiety.

“Naomi, watch your expression,” Ruby reminded her quietly.

“Okay.”

As soon as she entered, Naomi put on a pleasant, well–mannered smile and approached them warmly. “Grandfather, Grandmother, Robert.”

Ruby also adopted a gentle, obedient demeanor. After offering her greetings, she stood quietly beside Naomi.

“Naomi, you’re back too.” Seeing Naomi enter, Ryan and Lena smiled and acknowledged her.

“Grandfather, Grandmother, I came by to visit you both. I didn’t expect Robert to be here–what a nice surprise.” Naomi stepped forward gracefully, adopting a solicitous manner.

She also subtly positioned herself to block Arabella from Robert’s line of sight.

Then Naomi looked at Robert with apparent concern. “Robert, you look so much better. Your health must have improved quite a bit, hasn’t it?”

“Yes, I’m feeling much better indeed,” Robert replied. He then stopped looking at Naomi and turned his attention toward Arabella, intending to ask her something. But he noticed Naomi was directly in his way.

With a hint of mild exasperation, Robert said to Naomi, “Naomi, would you mind stepping aside just a bit? I had something! wanted to ask Dr. Macdonald.”

Hearing Robert’s request, the smile on Naomi’s face instantly stiffened.

She had no choice. Since Robert had asked directly, even if Naomi was thoroughly unwilling, she had to comply,

Naomi had thought that by blocking Arabella, she could prevent any interaction between her and Robert. She never expected Robert would actually ask her to move aside–for Arabella’s sake–right in front of everyone!

Naomi’s gaze toward Arabella now simmered with resentment. She must have taken advantage of Naomi’s absence to ingratiate herself with Robert.

“Yes, this herb might seem ordinary, but it actually has some very supportive properties,” Arabella replied.

“Yes, Arabella, maybe it’s better not to let Robert take something like this without certainty,” Naomi added, putting on a concerned expression as if offering well–intentioned advice.

“That’s right, Arabella, do you actually have any training in medicine?” Ruby seized the chance to challenge her.

Watching the two of them tag–team their skepticism, Arabella couldn’t be bothered to pay them much mind. She simply explained to Robert, “This is a type of herbal plant that often gets overlooked, but it’s quite supportive for your constitution, Robert. I just spotted it growing in the garden and picked it for you. You can take it with confidence.”

“Alright.” Robert nodded in understanding. He still trusted Arabella’s judgment considerably.
