Florence looked surprised. “I thought you said you were leaving later?”

“I just remembered some reports I need to prepare. I’d better head to the office first,” Naomi replied, offering a convenient excuse.

“Alright then. Just try to be home for dinner tonight,” Florence reminded her.

“I will,” Naomi agreed.

“Arabella, keep Mom company. I’m off to work,” Naomi added, not forgetting to perform her filial role.

“Of course.” Arabella played along.

After watching Naomi leave, Arabella’s expression grew thoughtful.

“Arabella, how is your training going lately?” Florence asked with genuine interest.

“It’s going well. We’ve moved on to actual flight training with the instructors. Yesterday was my first time taking the controls in the air. The feeling was incredible…” Arabella described her experience warmly.

Florence listened, her eyes shining. “Listening to you, I can’t wait for the day I get to be a passenger on your flight.”

“Once I get my license, you’ll be my first guest, Mom.”

“I’ll hold you to that.”

The two chatted pleasantly for a while. When Arabella noticed the time, she turned to Florence. “I should probably head out.”

“I thought you said you had the day off and were going to rest?” Florence asked, her gaze tinged with concern. Why did she have to go out again?

“It’s not work. Just some personal errands,” Arabella explained.

“Oh, I see. Well, go ahead then, but don’t be out too long,” Florence urged.

Arabella smiled. “I won’t be,”

Soon after, Arabella changed and left Cloudrise Manor,

She drove straight to Stewart Manor.

Noticing Naomi’s car parked outside, Arabella allowed a slight, knowing smile. So it really was them.

Inside the living room at that moment…

“Naomi, is this true?” Robert asked, his surprise evident.

“Absolutely, Mr. Stewart. Naomi went to a lot of trouble to get in touch with Dr. Aletta,” Ruby chimed in, her tone exaggerated.

“Mr. Stewart, I happened to make the connection through a contact, I thought that even though you’re fully recovered, it would be wonderful if Dr. Aletta could give you a consultation. So I extended the invitation, and to my surprise, he accepted,” Naomi

explained, putting on her most respectful demeanor.

“Mr. Stewart, about that… perhaps you should reserve judgment until you’ve actually met Dr. Aletta,” Ruby said meaningfully.

Robert’s brow furrowed. “What are you implying?”

“What I mean is, maybe Arabella isn’t actually-”

“Mr. Stewart,” Naomi cut Ruby off before she could finish.

“Hmm?” Robert turned his attention back to Naomi.

Naomi forced a stiff smile. “Mr. Stewart, the scheduled time is approaching. Dr. Aletta should be here any moment.”

“Is that so?” Robert instructed the butler, “Charles, would you check at the gate, please?”

“Right away,” Charles replied and headed out.

Ruby tugged discreetly at Naomi’s sleeve, whispering, “Why did you stop me?”

“If we say it now, Mr. Stewart will think we set this whole thing up. It’s better if it comes out naturally later, and let Dr. Aletta be the one to clarify the situation,” Naomi replied in a hushed tone. She didn’t want Robert to perceive her as manipulative.

“Does the timing really matter? The outcome will be the same,” Ruby said, unconcerned. Arabella’s deception would be exposed either way.

“But Mr. Stewart is very fond of Arabella. He might resent us for it. It’s better to let Dr. Aletta take on that role. We shouldn’t,” Naomi explained, feeling a flash of frustration. Ruby was clever but far too impulsive.

Ruby finally understood, feeling a pang of regret. “You don’t want Mr. Robert Stewart or Mr. Stewart to think poorly of you. I didn’t

think of that.”

“It’s fine. Fortunately, everything is still going according to plan,” Naomi said magnanimously.

“Dr. Hamilton is here. She said-” Charles‘ announcement was cut off as Ruby reacted. “What is she doing here?” Ruby blurted out.

“Am I not allowed to come?” Arabella’s calm voice rang out as she entered the room.
