He knew that eventually she would finish all her exams and complete her training.
‘Alright, I’ll help you get your license as soon as I can,” Lucas said with a smile.
‘Thanks–I really appreciate it,” Arabella replied gratefully.
f she hadn’t met Lucas, things probably wouldn’t have gone so smoothly.
Lucas waved a hand. “No need to keep thanking me. Honestly, meeting you was a real lucky break for me.”
‘I’m really glad to have you as a friend, too,” Arabella said, her eyes warm and smiling.
Watching her smile, Lucas felt himself zone out for a second.
‘Lucas!” Someone called his name, snapping him back to reality. He turned to look.
Arabella stood up. “Sounds like you’re needed. I’ll go get some practice in on my own.”
With that, she headed toward her training plane.
Lucas watched the person approaching and raised his brows in surprise. “Uncle? What’s up?”
‘Big news, that’s what!” His uncle, Hank Jarvis, said excitedly. “Come over here–I want to introduce you to someone.”
‘This is Mr. Stewart!” Hank turned, his tone full of respect as he looked toward Matthew.
Lucas was taken aback. “Mr. Stewart? What brings you here?”
“You two know each other?” Hank asked, surprised.
Not really,” Lucas explained. “We just ran into each other once by chance.”
Matthew glanced at Lucas. “Didn’t expect you to be more than just a flight instructor.”
So the owner here was his uncle.

‘That’s right, Mr. Stewart. This is my nephew–and honestly, he’s our top instructor here. His flying skills are second to none,” Hank said proudly.
“Uncle, what did you mean by ‘big news‘?” Lucas asked, confused Was this about Matthew!
“Here’s the deal,” Hank began eagerly “Mr. Stewart is here today to discuss investing in our flight school Since you already knew each other, why don’t you give him the rundown on how things work around here?”
“Mr. Stewart is investing here?” Lucas sounded surprised. “Didn’t you just invest in Arabella’s company”
First Arabella’s company, now this place… Lucas couldn’t help but feel something was off
Matthew’s gaze sharpened slightly, his demeanor cooling. “How did you know about that?”
Realizing he’d spoken out of turn, Lucas backtracked quickly. “I wasn’t prying into your business, Arabella just mentioned it in

passing when we were talking.”
She’d only brought it up after he’d asked why she was at Horizon Corp.
Matthew’s presence seemed to grow even cooler. So Arabella had told him everything. Just how close were they?
“Lucas, mind your words!” Hank shot him a warning look. “A company like Horizon Corp has the means to invest in more than one venture.”
Then, turning back to Matthew, he added, “Mr. Stewart, he’s not really a business guy–just lives and breathes flying. Sometimes he speaks before he thinks. Please don’t hold it against him.”
Matthew replied evenly, “Then let’s hear what Lucas has to say.”
“Well, there’s not much to tell,” Lucas said honestly. “As you can see, we’re pretty small–scale, and business is just okay–honestly, we’re barely keeping things running.”
For some reason, he felt resistant and didn’t want Matthew to invest here.
Hank reached over and lightly smacked the back of Lucas‘ head. “What are you talking about? Cut it out!”
He’d been wanting to expand the training program for a while, but new equipment and aircraft cost a fortune, so those plans had been on hold.
Now, out of nowhere, Matthew showed up offering to invest. An opportunity like this didn’t come around often.
“Mr. Stewart, don’t listen to him. We’re doing just fine here. And with your investment, we’re planning to expand our training programs…” Hank jumped in, defending the school and worried Lucas might talk Matthew out of it.
Lucas kept undermining. “Mr. Stewart, you should really think this through. I’m telling it like it is.”
Matthew glanced at him. “If you’re not involved in running the place, how would you know the details?”
“I might not handle the books, but I know whether we’re in the black or the red,” Lucas insisted.
Matthew nodded slowly.
“Mr. Stewart, it’s really not like that. Let me explain,” Hank said, starting to sound a little desperate.
“Mr. Stewart knows what’s up!” Lucas added, a touch smug.
Matthew turned toward Hank, whose face had lost some color, his eyes faintly worried.
