Gritting her teeth, Naomi said softly, “Matthew, I’m in no hurry. Why don’t you look the documents over first? If you have any notes, just write them on the pages. I’ll make sure Arabella gets them back.”
“That won’t be necessary,” Matthew replied coldly. “I wouldn’t want to inconvenience you.”
“Matthew, it’s really no trouble at all,” Naomi pressed, a note of anxiety creeping into her voice.
She just wanted a few more moments in his presence.
“I find it inconvenient,” Matthew stated icily.
Naomi’s face instantly lost its color, her heart feeling as though it had been pierced.
Was he really so unwilling to exchange another word with her, or even spare her a glance?
Clenching her hands tightly, she did her best to hold her crumbling composure, forcing her voice to sound steady. “Then I won’t take up any more of your time. Please carry on with your work.”
Matthew had already picked up another file from his desk, making his dismissal perfectly clear.
With no other choice, Naomi turned and left the office, her spirits thoroughly dampened.
Once outside the door, a cold emptiness seemed to seep into her. Her chest felt tight and sore.
Why? Even after swallowing her pride and lowering herself like this, he still refused to acknowledge her.
“Ms. Hamilton!” Andy’s voice held a note of surprise as he saw her.
Naomi pulled herself together, striving to maintain her dignified posture. “Andy.”
“You look quite pale. Are you feeling alright?” Andy studied her, thinking she looked rather unsteady.
Naomi waved a dismissive hand. “I’m fine. I’ll be going now.”
With that, she began walking slowly toward the elevators.
Watching her retreating figure, Andy frowned and muttered to himself, “That really doesn’t look ‘tine…”
But since she insisted on leaving, he couldn’t very well stop her.
He raised his hand and knocked on the office door.
“Come in.”
Hearing the permission, Andy pushed the door open and entered.
“Mr. Stewart, Mr. White requested a meeting this after-”
“Reschedule it for tomorrow,” Matthew said, already rising from his chair. “We’re going to the flight school.”
“Huh?” Andy’s eyes widened in surprise. What business did they have there?

But seeing Matthew was already heading for the door, he hurried to follow…
Soon, the Rolls–Royce pulled away from Horizon Corp.

“Mr. Stewart, is there an issue with the investment over there?” Andy asked nervously. Had he missed some development? Was he slipping in his duties?
“There’s no issue,” Matthew replied, then opened the proposal Arabella had prepared.
His gaze sharpened slightly, and the icy edge to his expression softened a little. The proposal was, in fact, very well crafted.
But… were flight lessons really more important than their business collaboration?
A flicker of irritation passed through him, and his expression darkened once more.
Watching his boss‘ shifting moods, Andy swallowed quietly and decided not to utter another word.
They arrived at the flight school.
Andy cautiously spoke up, “Mr. Stewart, we’re here.”
Matthew got out of the car and strode directly toward the training area.
His eyes immediately found Arabella and Lucas, chatting and laughing in the lounge area.
A surge of inexplicable annoyance washed over him, and he marched straight to Arabella’s side.
Sensing a presence, Arabella instinctively looked up, her eyes widening in surprise. “Mr. Stewart? What are you doing here?”
“Where exactly did you expect me to be?” Matthew shot back.
Arabella frowned. Why did it feel like he was in a foul mood?
“Well… you can be wherever you need to be, Mr. Stewart. Whatever suits you,” she replied smoothly.
After all, it wasn’t her place to question him.
“What’s this? Signed the contract yesterday and already here to inspect today? Mr. Stewart, you take your investments very seriously,” Lucas said, his guard immediately up at the sight of Matthew.
Matthew glanced at him. “If my presence displeases you, you’re welcome to resign.”
Lucas choked back a sharper retort. “Why should I be the one to leave?”
“Then remain silent if you choose to stay,” Matthew said, his voice turning colder.
Lucas snorted. “With all due respect, Mr. Stewart, you’re an investor, not the manager. There’s no need for you to involve yourself in day–to–day operations.”
In other words–please stop showing up here so often.
“And you should understand that even if you don’t resign, I can still have you removed,” Matthew stated coolly.
“You-!” Lucas fumed, but found himself at a loss for a rebuttal.
