“Alright, I’ve got it,” Arabella said. “If the clients have any specific requests, forward them to me. If not, I’ll just design based on my own inspiration.”
“No special requests at all, so you have free rein,” Colton said with a chuckle. “Honestly, they all sought us out because of your reputation. They’ll be thrilled with anything you create.”
Hearing that, Arabella allowed a small smile. “Okay, understood.”
After hanging up, Arabella glanced at her computer and began a new sketch.
Before she knew it, the hour was late. Arabella looked at the two completed jewelry designs and felt a flicker of satisfaction.
The jewelry was done. Next was the gown.
“I have a concept for the gown. I’ll draft it tomorrow. But the landscape painting…” She suddenly felt a lack of inspiration.
With a quiet sigh, she murmured to herself, “Looks like I should get out tomorrow for a change of scenery. That might help.”
She shut down her computer and went to bed.
She slept soundly straight through until morning.
“Knock, knock, knock.”
“Arabella, are you awake?” Florence’s voice called through the door.
“Hmm.” Arabella sat up groggily, checked the time on her phone, and instantly became more alert. “Wow, I actually slept this late!”
“Mom, I’m up,” Arabella called back.
Florence’s voice softened with relief. “Good. Come down for breakfast.”
“Okay.” Arabella quickly got out of bed, washed up, got dressed, and headed downstairs.
Only Florence was in the dining room.
“Dad and Ethan have already left for work, huh,” Arabella said, feeling a twinge of embarrassment.
She’d overslept–everyone else was already starting their day.
“Your dad had an early business breakfast, and Ethan mentioned he was going to visit a potential partner company,” Florence explained.
Arabella nodded and took a seat at the table.
Florence studied her daughter’s face. “Why did you sleep in so much today? Are you feeling okay?”
“I’m fine. I was just up late last night working on some designs…” Arabella caught herself mid–sentence, having almost let it slip.

“You work on designs?” Naomi’s voice chimed in from the doorway.
Arabella’s brow furrowed slightly, and she replied coolly, “You misheard. I said I was on my phone.”
“Misheard?” Naomi repeated, her tone skeptical.
She eyed Arabella with clear doubt but decided to take a seat at the table.
She was almost certain she’d heard “designs“, not “phone“.
Under her scrutinizing gaze, Arabella frowned. “Shouldn’t you have left for the office by now?”
Naomi replied, “I came back to pick up a file.”
“Got it?” Arabella asked.
Naomi held up a leather portfolio. “Yes, right here.”
“Then shouldn’t you be heading out?” Arabella pressed, her tone light but pointed.
Naomi paused, then said, “I was just about to.”
“Mm.” Arabella simply acknowledged her and fell silent, as if to say, “Then why are you still sitting here?”
Naomi took a subtle, deep breath and turned to Florence. “Mom, I’ll head to the office now.”
“Alright, drive safe,” Florence said with a warm smile.
“Enjoy your breakfast. I’ll see you later.” Naomi gave Arabella one last, searching look before standing.
Arabella gave a slight nod, her manner politely dismissive.
Holding back her irritation, Naomi maintained her composure and left the room.

“Arabella, you really shouldn’t stay up so late on your phone. It’s not good for you,” Florence said gently, her concern evident.
“Okay, I know. I’ll be more careful from now on,” Arabella promised.
Florence seemed reassured and reminded her, “Hurry and eat. Your breakfast is still warm.”
“You were down so late, so I asked the kitchen to keep a plate warm for you. When you still hadn’t come down, I started to worry you might be coming down with something and came up to check,” Florence explained.
“Thanks, Mom. You’re the best,” Arabella said, her voice warm with affection.
Florence chuckled, her eyes full of fondness. “Always such a charmer”
In the sunlit living room, the two shared a cheerful, cozy moment. At the front doorway, Naomi watched the scene with a cold expression.
Seeing how close and happy they looked, Naomi’s eyes darkened Her jaw tightened briefly before she turned and walked out to
