Chapter 524 Sending Ruby Abroad
Chapter 524 Sending Ruby Abroad
Florence went over to see Liam.
“I’m feeling much better now,” Liam told her.
“I know–Arabella mentioned it was just stress. A good rest and you’ll be back to yourself,” Florence reassured him.
Liam sighed. “I still can’t wrap my head around it… Arabella really is the famous healer Aletta.”
“We were all shocked,” Florence admitted.
After a moment, Liam brought up, “What about… Ruby?”

“No update yet, but it doesn’t sound too serious. She’ll likely be home in a few days. Try not to worry,” Florence said gently.
“Honestly, maybe staying there a little longer would do her some good. How could she treat Arabella that way?” Liam’s voice tightened with anger just thinking about it.
“Don’t get worked up–Arabella said stress isn’t good for your recovery,” Sophia chimed in softly.
“I just don’t understand how she turned out like this,” Liam murmured, shaking his head.
“A wake–up call might help. I believe she can change,” Florence offered.
“Arabella really got the raw end of the deal in all this. And we’ve caused you so much trouble,” Liam said, his tone apologetic.
Florence smiled warmly. “We’re family–you don’t need to say things like that. Besides, we’re only stepping in because we don’t want Ruby going down a bad path. If she comes out of this better, that’s all that matters.”
“I hope you’re right,” Sophia said, her voice catching slightly.
How could a mother not ache for her own daughter?
But what Ruby had done was truly hard to forgive.
Florence gave Sophia’s shoulder a gentle squeeze. “It’ll be okay.”
Sophia’s eyes grew damp and red. She nodded quietly.
“You know, once she’s out, I’m thinking of sending her abroad,” Liam said suddenly.
“Abroad?” Sophia and Florence both looked surprised.
“A change of scenery might help. Maybe in a few years, once she’s had time to grow and mature, things will look different,” Liam explained.
Florence and Sophia exchanged a glance. Then Florence said carefully, “That… could make sense. But do you think she’ll agree?”
“She might not have a choice,” Liam replied, his expression turning serious. He couldn’t let something like this happen again.
“But sending her overseas alone… Are you sure about that?” Sophia hesitated.

Liam thought for a moment. “If we do send her, she could stay with Gideon.”

“If she does go abroad, having Gideon nearby would be good. Her brother can keep an eye on her and make sure she’s okay. You’d both feel better about it,” Florence agreed.
Sophia considered it, then nodded slowly. “If that’s the case… then maybe it’s for the best.”
“Then once everything’s settled, we’ll arrange for her to go,” Liam concluded.
“Alright. We’re all so busy here–we can’t watch over her the way she might need. Gideon can give her that extra support,” Sophia conceded.
Florence added, “For now, Liam, you focus on getting better. Sophia can stay here at the hospital with you. I’ll handle everything for Ruby’s move–paperwork, packing, all of it. Don’t give it another thought.”
“Florence, thank you… really,” Sophia said, deeply touched.
Even after what Ruby had done, Florence wasn’t holding it against them. Instead, she was stepping up to help.
“We’re putting you through a lot,” Liam added gratefully.
“That’s what family is for,” Florence said with a soft smile.
“Alright, you should get some proper rest. And Sophia–you’ve been here all night and must be exhausted too. Try to nap if you can. I should get going now and let you both relax.” Florence stood to leave.
“Let me walk you out,” Sophia offered, rising as well.
Florence shook her head. “No need–I know my way. Take care, both of you.”
After Florence had left, Sophia let out a quiet sigh. “Thank goodness Florence and the others aren’t blaming us. I wouldn’t know what to do if they were.”
“Arabella’s the one who was really wronged here,” Liam said with clear regret.
“Just focus on healing for now. Once you’re out and Ruby’s home, we’ll send her to Gideon’s. Then we’ll find a way to make things right with Arabella,” Sophia said softly. They couldn’t just let what happened to Arabella go unacknowledged.
“I guess that’s all we can do,” Liam replied, releasing a long breath. He looked worn out.
“You’re exhausted. Lie down and rest–your body needs it.” Sophia adjusted Liam’s pillow and helped him settle under the
blankets.
“I’m okay. You’ve been through a lot too–get some sleep,” Liam said before closing his eyes.
Sophia watched him until his breathing steadied, then lay down on the nearby recliner and let herself drift off as well.
