Unemployed Family? Hidden Tycoons Dote On Her novel Chapter 535

"Of course," the waiter replied, looking noticeably relieved.

"As for the food... let's go with these for now. We can always order more later if we need to," Arabella said, selecting a few dishes from the menu and handing it directly back to the waiter.

It was better she took charge. Otherwise, with those two going at each other, they might never actually get to eat lunch.

"Your order will be right out," the waiter said before heading toward the kitchen.

Watching Lucas and Brielle glare at each other as if they couldn't stand to be in the same room, Arabella ventured carefully, "You two... maybe you'd prefer to sit separately?"

"No, it's fine," Brielle said instantly, flashing a sweet smile in Arabella's direction.

Lucas didn't want to leave either. "I'm good right here."

"Then please try not to argue. Otherwise, you're both welcome to eat on your own." Arabella laid down the ground rules, hoping for a peaceful meal.

"Fine," Lucas agreed. He'd just ignore her. Simple enough.

After all, he wasn't about to walk away from Arabella. Opportunities to take her out for lunch didn't come around that often.

"Arabella, how are you so amazing? Even this grump knows how to behave when you're around," Brielle said, gazing at her with admiration.

"You're one to talk," Lucas shot back sarcastically.

He had to admit, he was curious too. Brielle actually seemed to tone it down whenever Arabella was present.

Arabella raised a brow slightly and said in a warning tone, "Hmm?"

"We're not arguing," Brielle and Lucas answered at the same time.

Arabella couldn't help but find it a little amusing. Okay, so they were both trying to keep it together.

Soon enough, the broths arrived, and all the ingredients were laid out on the table. The waiter announced, "Everything's here for you. Enjoy your meal."

Brielle exclaimed, practically drooling.

She cooked a slice of meat and ate it with an expression of pure satisfaction.

Watching her, Lucas lifted an eyebrow slightly, then leaned toward Arabella and said quietly, "You know, I think I suddenly get why you think she's alright. When she's not running her mouth, she's not half bad."

"If you ever get the chance to spend more time with her, you might see she's not as high-maintenance as she comes off. But if not, that's fine too." Whether they ended up getting along or not was really up to chance.

Lucas shrugged. "Doubt there'll be many chances."

Arabella didn't push it further. She turned to Lucas and asked, "I've pretty much completed all the required practice hours. Can we schedule the check ride now?"

"What check ride?" Brielle cut in curiously.

"For my pilot's license," Arabella answered honestly.

Brielle's eyes went wide. "Arabella, you can fly a plane too? That is seriously cool!"

"Just being able to fly is cool?" Arabella laughed lightly. "He's a certified flight instructor. Can handle pretty much any aircraft."

"Him? Mr. Grumpy?" Brielle looked completely unconvinced. "Well, that's... surprising."

Lucas sat up a little straighter, waiting for Brielle to show some admiration. Instead, she finished, "I don't really see it."

"Pfft." Even Arabella couldn't hold back a chuckle.
