Unemployed Family? Hidden Tycoons Dote On Her novel Chapter 589

Everyone could tell Arabella wasn't herself. They exchanged looks and silently agreed not to mention it.

Finally, dinner wrapped up. Arabella let out a quiet sigh. "I'm gonna step outside for a bit," she said.

The atmosphere inside felt heavy. She needed some air.

"I'll go check on her," Edward said quickly, following her out.

"Me too," Alfred added, moving to leave, but Ethan grabbed his arm. "Let Edward go first. Arabella's really close to him. He might figure out what's up."

"Doesn't she care about us, too?" Alfred argued.

Ethan shook his head. "It's different with him. You know that."

Alfred raised an eyebrow. "Since when did you get so chummy with Edward? You've been looking out for him this whole trip—what's the deal?"

"What are you talking about?" Ethan frowned.

"You and Edward. I've never seen you this invested in someone outside the family," Alfred pressed, a teasing glint in his eye.

Ethan paused, catching his drift, and shot him a sharp look. "What's wrong with you? I'm doing it for Arabella. If I didn't, she'd be the one running around after him."

"Oh, right. That makes sense," Alfred said, sounding relieved.

"What did you think?" Ethan's glare turned dangerous, like he was ready to throw a punch.

Alfred shrugged innocently. "Nothing! Don't read into it."

"You're the one saying weird stuff," Ethan muttered, annoyed.

"Honestly, you're overreacting," Alfred insisted, backtracking fast.

He wasn't about to admit where his mind had gone. That'd definitely earn him a smack.

"Really?" Ethan eyed him skeptically.

"What do you think?" Alfred fired back.

Ethan choked on his reply. What could he think? He wasn't going there.

He gave Alfred a final warning look and dropped it.

Alfred offered an apologetic grin before hurrying after the others.

"The lookout point up ahead is the best spot for sunset," Frank mentioned.

"Then let's head over," Alfred said.

"Sounds good," Arabella agreed, making her way toward the platform.

Edward moved to follow, but Alfred gently held him back. Edward looked at him, confused. "Yeah?"

"Just wanted to ask—is Arabella okay? She seemed off during dinner. Is she pushing through not feeling well?" Alfred kept his voice low.

"No, it's not that," Edward explained. "She had a bad dream earlier. It just put her in a weird mood."

"Ah, got it," Alfred said, relaxing. He glanced back at Ethan and gave a slight nod of thanks. You are right.

Ethan rolled his eyes and ignored him.
