Unemployed Family? Hidden Tycoons Dote On Her novel Chapter 615

After a quick shower and change of clothes, Arabella made her way downstairs.

"So that's how it went," Florence said, visibly relieved.

Arabella guessed Matthew must have already filled her in. She took a seat on the couch. "Thanks for driving me home, Mr. Stewart."

"Of course," Matthew replied.

Noticing the polite, almost formal tone between them, Florence spoke up. "Since you came home early, I'm guessing neither of you has had dinner yet?"

"I grabbed a muffin earlier," Arabella said.

"No," Matthew answered plainly.

Arabella shot him a curious glance. What was that about?

Florence then offered, "It's getting late. How about I fix you both some pasta?"

"No need to trouble yourself. Dr. Hamilton mentioned she'd take care of it," Matthew said, his expression perfectly neutral.

Arabella's eyes widened in disbelief. When had she ever said that? But one look at Florence's expectant face and she backed down.

"Right, I'll make it," she conceded. No point putting her mom through the trouble—she might as well do it herself.

She headed to the kitchen, muttering under her breath, "What's gotten into Mr. Stewart lately?"

Whipping up pasta was simple enough. In no time, Arabella had two steaming plates ready.

Truth be told, she was feeling a little hungry herself. Since she was cooking anyway, she made enough for both.

"You two go ahead and eat. I just remembered I've got a few things to take care of upstairs," Florence said tactfully, leaving them alone.

Arabella gestured toward the dining area. "Mr. Stewart, shall we?"

Soon they were seated across from each other at the table.

Matthew glanced at the plate in front of him—tossed with grilled chicken, fresh herbs, and a light cream sauce. It looked genuinely appetizing.

"Dr. Hamilton, you're not only good with herbal remedies. You can cook, too," he remarked.

"It's nothing fancy. Just something quick to fill the stomach," Arabella replied modestly. She never considered her cooking anything special.

"Can you make other dishes as well?" Matthew asked.

Arabella thought for a moment. "I'm pretty decent in the kitchen. I can handle most recipes."

Matthew nodded. "That's impressive."

"Not really," she said with a slight smile, then motioned to his plate. "Dig in."

They began eating, making casual conversation between bites.

"About what happened today... I owe you an apology, too," Matthew said unexpectedly.

Arabella paused, then shook her head. "It was just an accident."

"If something goes wrong, it means I didn't look out for you well enough," Matthew said, a flicker of concern in his eyes.

"You weren't even next to me, and it all happened so fast. Nobody's to blame," she replied gently.
