Chapter 4
Willow’s POV
“Get out!” A primal roar ripped from his throat.
The heavy impact hit my shoulder, and shards of glass sliced through my clothes, tearing into my skin.
I didn’t cry, and I didn’t flinch. I just stood there for two silent seconds, staring at the tangled mess of their bodies, before turning to leave.
I went back to my room next door, but sleep was impossible.
All night, the sounds of a beast tearing, skin hitting skin, and the low, gutteral groans of raw lust bled through the walls.
Werewolf mating was infinitely more violent than anything humans knew, especially for an Alpha who had just claimed a new mark.
Those sounds felt like a thousand needles driving into
my
eardrums.
Worst of all was the mark on my own neck; even though I was human, the mark began to fester and rot while Rowan buried himself in another she-wolf.
The next day, I was numbly packing my bags when Rowan kicked my door open.
He charged at me like a wounded animal, his hands clamping down on my shoulders. His nails dug into the exact spot where I’d been hurt the day before.
“You gave her the Eclipse Potion, didn’t you?!”
He looked even more unstable than he had the night before.
I almost blacked out from the pain, cold sweat dripping down my temples. I gritted my teeth and threw his words back at him.
“I have no idea what you’re talking about.”
“Liar!” He let out a cold laugh, tightening his grip.
“My senses were off last night. I smelled you… that’s why I lost control and marked her! If you

hadn’t used that potion to trick me, I would’ve known it wasn’t you.”
“I marked Lyra, and now she’s going to be stuck in a feral state just like me.”

He leaned down, spitting my name through his teeth. “Willow, I know you’re jealous, but Lyra is a high-born wolf. You shouldn’t have sabotaged her.”
Looking at his face, twisted with rage, I just felt like laughing.
“You’re the one who went crazy, and you’re the one who marked her. You should be happy, Rowan. From now on, you’re her only Alpha.”
He slapped me.
The blow was so heavy my ears started ringing, and my vision blurred instantly.
My cheek burned like it had been branded. I blinked hard, fighting the sting in my eyes.
“Pathetic human,” he spat, grabbing my chin. “I should have let you die in that alley seven years ago.”
Yeah, I regretted it, too. Seven years of my life, and in the end, I was worth less than a stray dog to him.
“Roar!” A piercing scream from the next room shattered the silence. “Rowan, help me!”
Rowan’s face went pale. Ignoring my struggle, he dragged me into the master bedroom.
Lyra’s blonde hair was a matted mess, her eyes were blood-red, and her nails were shredding the
velvet sheets.
It was the rejection phase after a mark-her wolf was unstable, her territorial instincts were haywire, and she needed a kill to vent the pressure.
A second later, Rowan shoved me down by the bed, forcing my neck right into Lyra’s hands- hands that had already shifted into claws.
“Let me go… Rowan! You’re insane!” I fought with everything I had, but human strength was like a brittle twig against an Alpha.
He pinned my wrists behind my back with one hand, nearly dislocating my shoulders.
To Lyra, the mark on my neck was the enemy she had to destroy.
She let out a jagged screech and buried her fangs into my neck, trying to rip the skin right off.

Agony flooded my entire body. I heard the sound of my own flesh tearing. Warm blood surged down my spine.
I started convulsing, my lungs filling with the metallic scent of blood until everything turned red.
Seven years ago, he saved my life. Today, I paid that debt in full.
As my world turned white, my soul felt like it was drifting away with the pieces of my skin. I closed my eyes and let go.
Rowan finally seemed to realize something was wrong. He let go of me in a panic, watching me slump to the floor like a ragdoll.
He shoved the frenzied Lyra aside, and she collapsed into a dead faint.
“Willow? Willow!”
He pressed his palm against the bloody mess on my neck, but the blood just kept gushing through his fingers.
