Asher Bennett sighed in relief.
“Hailey, I already deleted her number. Just calm down…”
But to his surprise, that just made Hailey even madder.
“I told you to delete her number, not have her delete yours! You actually hesitated! You can't stand to let her go, can you?”
“Fine! You're all in this together!”
And then, finally, she burst into tears.
As if we were the ones bullying her.
Biting her lip, she grabbed her bag and ran off.
Asher immediately panicked.
“Hailey! Babe, wait!”
He scrambled out the door after her.
The private room was finally quiet.
The rest of us just stared at each other, dumbfounded.
Ray scoffed.
“Seriously, what's her problem? Where on earth did Asher find such a piece of work?”
And just like that, the party ended on a sour note.
Everyone went their separate ways.
Later that night, a message suddenly popped up in our group chat.
Someone had @'d me.
It was Asher.
[Isabelle, I'm so sorry about today.]
[It was all my fault. I'm literally begging for forgiveness…]
I sighed and replied: [It's fine.]
[You're really not mad at me?]
I didn't answer.
A moment later, he actually sent another message.
[Isabelle, if you're really not mad, could you do me a favor…?]
[Hailey has a huge temper. We had another huge fight when we got home, and now she's threatening to call off the wedding.]
