Chapter 115 Factory Fire

Camille saw Nathan standing there completely unharmed and rushed forward without hesitation, throwing her arms tightly around him as she burst into tears.

Nathan, thank God you’re okay. I was terrified.

She had called him over and over, and he never answered. For a moment she had truly believed he had been taken away by the police.

Elena and Sophia shifted to a different angle to continue their livestream. When Nathan say them walking away, he panicked and tried to pry Camille off, but she clung stubbornly to h neck and refused to let go.

Only after Elena and Sophia had fully left did Camille slowly loosen her grip, the corners of mouth lifting in a small, satisfied smile.

Camille, didn’t you promise me?Nathan said in a low voice, clearly annoyed.

Camille pouted, her expression innocent. I was worried about you. I called so many times a you didn’t answer. I thought something happened.”

Nathan pulled out his phone and checked. There were indeed several missed calls from her, and a trace of reluctant softness crossed his face.

I’m fine. Why are you here?he asked.

I’m here to report,Camille replied smoothly. I had no idea this was a Hawthorne Group factory. That’s not a problem, is it?

Nathan’s eyes flickered briefly. It’s fine. Go do your job. I still have things to handle.”

After a few rushed words, he strode off.

Sophia watched Camille still staring longingly in Nathan’s direction and rolled her eyes. Is she here to work, or is this a romantic reunion?

Just pretend she doesn’t exist,” Elena said calmly.

Her expectations were simple. As long as Camille did not cause trouble, everything would be manageable.

Elena tied her hair back neatly and resumed livestreaming. Several minutes later, Camille finally wandered over, snapped a few photos of the burned clothing factory, then began strolling around as if she were sightseeing.

The fire was not fully extinguished until late in the evening.

Elena and Sophia grabbed dinner at a nearby food truck that sold burgers and fries, and Elen: still wanted to follow up on how the situation would conclude.

She overheard firefighters talking, saying Hawthorne Group representatives had confirmed th everyone had been evacuated safely, the fire was completely out, and they were just finishing up to check for any lingering hazards.

After eating, Elena went to buy bottled water.

As she passed around a corner behind the building, a familiar voice drifted toward her.

Do you think they’ll find out what really caused it?

It was Victor.

Elena instinctively slowed her steps, moving more quietly.

Nathan’s voice followed. I already had Harold go in and take care of what needed to be handled. No one died. As long as anything that shouldn’t be there is gone, we’ll be fine. Don’t worry.

If something blows up right now, your grandfather is going to lose his temper,Victor muttered, clearly tense.

A chill ran down Elena’s back.

What does Nathan mean by taking care of what needs to be handled? Is someone still inside, or was this fire set on purpose from the start?

She carefully stepped backward, but her foot came down on a dry branch. The sharp crack echoed clearly in the quiet night.

Who’s there?Nathan called out, alert.

He stepped out from behind the wall, scanning the area, but saw no one.

Was someone listening?Victor frowned.

Nathan paused for a moment. Probably just a sound.

Elena did not slow down for a second as she walked away, her heart pounding violently. Her instincts told her this fire was far more complicated than it looked,

Elena, you look pale. Are you okay?Sophia asked.

Camille also glanced over curiously.

I’m fine,Elena said after taking a large sip of water. I just walked too fast. My stomach feel

little off.”

She looked around. Most people had already left. Besides them, only five or six reporters remained.
