Chapter 259 The Interview
In the end. Elena lowered her hand without touching him.
She gave Alexander one last look, then turned and walked into Nicole’s hospital room.
Inside. Gideon was still explaining the child’s condition in detail, his tone calm and professional as he went over treatment progress and recovery expectations. Elena didn’t interrupt. Instead, she stepped out onto the small balcony attached to the room.
From there, she could see the hospital parking lot clearly. Alexander’s car stood out immediately.
It had been parked there for nearly two hours.
She leaned lightly against the railing, watching as the car finally pulled out, moving slowly toward the exit before disappearing from view.
Something unspoken had settled between them. A stalemate.
She hadn’t gone back to the new place. She hadn’t returned to Kingsley Manor either.
Instead, she checked into a high-end hotel and rented a long-term suite, turning it into a temporary home. With her current income, it wasn’t a burden, and the convenience made everything easier, from meals to daily routines.
They weren’t talking about divorce. But neither of them was trying to fix things.
As for Alexander, she wanted answers, but she wasn’t going to chase them. If he had something to say, he could
say it when he was ready.
And Alexander… Seemed to have no intention of explaining anything at all.
The only thing he did was send things over from time to time while she was at work. Supplements, desserts, small things through Sophia, as if that could replace an actual conversation.
After a few times, even Sophia started noticing something was off.
She had tried more than once to ask what was going on, but every time, Elena stopped her with just a look.
Finally, Elena said, “Don’t ask a pregnant woman questions that might stress her out. It’s not good for the baby, okay?”
Sophia sighed, clearly holding back more questions.
Sophia said, “Alright… I’ll drop it.”
Then she shifted the topic.
Sophia said, “What’s going on with Landon’s case? I saw something online a few days ago, paparazzi caught him leaving a hotel with a rookie actress. I actually like her, she has that fresh, girl-next-door look. I heard she doesn’t come from much though.
Elena picked up her bag Elena said. “I have an interview scheduled with Nicole today.”

Chapter 259 The Interview
Nicole had been emotionally unstable for a while because of her child’s condition, but recently things had improved. The baby’s condition had stabilized, and the weight gain was finally on track. That was the only reason Nicole agreed to set a time.
Elena brought Hannah and Sophia with her to the hospital.
When they walked into the room, Nicole looked slightly nervous.
Nicole said, “Do I need to do my makeup or anything? I haven’t been looking great lately. If I look too pale, will that affect how it comes across? Or should I do something more… emotional-looking?”
Elena couldn’t help but smile.
She had started to realize that beneath everything, Nicole actually had a quiet sense of humor.
If her life had been different, without her family and without Landon, she probably would have been someone who laughed easily.
Elena said, “You’re fine as you are. We focus on authenticity. I’ll ask some questions later, but if there’s anything you don’t want to answer, just say so and we’ll skip it.”
It had taken a lot for Nicole to agree to this interview.
Elena had no intention of pushing her too far. Nicole nodded gently.
Nicole said, “Okay.”
Hannah handed her a cup of warm water. Elena sat across from her while Sophia set up the recording equipment.
They chose a spot near the window on the balcony area. The morning light filtered in softly, falling across Nicole’s face. Dressed in a hospital gown, she looked almost translucent, fragile in a way that didn’t need to be staged.
The interview began. Elena started with a few basic questions, easing into the conversation.
They talked about the suicide attempt and the pregnancy.
Nicole answered everything honestly. Then Elena moved forward.
Elena said, “Nicole, having a child out of wedlock could impact your career. Have you thought about what comes next for you?”
Nicole smiled faintly, though there was a bitterness beneath it.
Nicole said, “I don’t think I’ll stay in this industry. Right now, he’s the only family I have. I won’t give up on him.
Elena glanced at the time.
Then she asked the question that mattered most.
Elena said, “There were rumors about you and Landon before, and recently there was the incident involving

your suicide attempt and childbirth. Are these connected to him?”
Nicole’s hands tightened around the fabric of her gown.
Her already pale face drained further of color, as if just hearing his name was enough to bring everything back.
