From beginning to end, Elena didn’t look in Nathan or Victoria’s direction even once.

Nathan kept his eyes locked on her back, watching as she walked out of the hospital and disappeared through the entrance.

Camille glanced at Nathan, then at Catherine, who was also staring toward where Elena had left. She quickly shifted her weight and pressed a hand to her lower back. “My back’s really starting to ache.”

Catherine snapped out of it and immediately turned to Nathan. “What is wrong with you? The doctor just said she’s pregnant. You’re her husband. Shouldn’t you at least be paying attention? Do you seriously have no awareness at all?”

Nathan pulled his gaze back and stepped forward, reaching out to support Camille.
