Today, both the fifth and sixth floors of Cloudrest Hotel were hosting weddings.
On the fifth floor, Nathan, heir of Hawthorne Group, was holding a wedding ceremony with his wife Elena.
On the sixth floor, Alexander, CEO of Pinnacle Group, was also getting married. Compared to the Hawthorne wedding, his event drew even more curiosity.
The Kingsley wedding was more private, mostly limited to family and close business partners, but in a city as big as Grayhaven, many guests were bouncing between both events.
Elena had chosen not to prepare at the Hart residence and insisted on starting from Cloudrest Hotel instead.
Catherine had no interest in being involved anyway, so she agreed immediately.
Before the ceremony began, Charles stepped onto the stage.
"Today is the wedding of my grandson Nathan and my granddaughter-in-law Elena. I have a few words to say."
He was clearly in a good mood.
Nathan had taken the initiative to hold this wedding, which in his eyes meant he had realized his mistakes and intended to treat Elena well moving forward.
"Elena has been a good wife. For five years, she's done everything she should for this family, for her in-laws, for me, and for you as a husband. From now on, don't mistreat her. Don't let her be wronged. And certain messy people from the past, it's time to cut ties."
As he spoke, Charles glanced directly at Camille.
The meaning was obvious.
The guests were surprised. Charles had always been demanding, yet here he was publicly standing up for Elena.
It said a lot.
Nathan didn't like being called out like that in front of everyone. But he didn't dare go against him.
"I understand, Grandpa."
Camille's nails dug into her palms. A faint, mocking smile tugged at her lips.
She was curious what Nathan's face would look like in a moment. Charles stepped down, satisfied.
The next part was the bride's entrance.
Music began to play. On the large screen, a video Nathan had carefully prepared for Elena started rolling.
He was confident she would be moved. But just two seconds in, the screen suddenly went black.
Then it lit up again. The content had changed.
It was no longer photos of Nathan and Elena.
Instead, a young woman with her hair in a messy bun appeared on screen, wrapped closely around a man as they watched the sunrise together.
Then another shot. They were kissing.
It was obvious at a glance, they were a couple.
