Chapter 697 We’re Teammates Now
Caroline figured he must have been starving after lifting the helicopter just now.
But when Cristian saw that her and Tyler weren’t in a rush to eat, he just held back and kept flying.
This kid is really way too innocent and honest!
Caroline could hardly imagine how he managed to fly something as high–tech as a helicopter so precisely while being that hungry.
Things like chicken breast were high in protein and good for replenishing energy.
Of course, Caroline planned to get out some carbs in a bit–that would help him recover even faster.
“It’s fine, we’re teammates now.”
This time, Caroline just tore open the chicken breast and handed it right to Cristian.
And it wasn’t just one packet.
She tore open ten packets at once!
She knew Cristian could really eat.
Cristian honestly hadn’t wanted to eat that much in front of Caroline.
But he was really starving.
After finishing two packets, he tried to say he was full and didn’t need more.
But his stomach kept growling.
By the fifth packet, his stomach was still making noise.
Caroline couldn’t hear it anymore, but Raven sure could!
So, when Cristian said he wasn’t hungry, Raven shot him a look of utter disdain and let out a huge huff, as if to say he didn’t buy Cristian’s little lie.
In truth, what Raven was thinking was–What’s the big deal?! My human has seen it all! You’ve never seen me right after awakening my ability. I could eat dozen pots of food in one sitting!

Chapter 697 We’re Teammates Now
Right then, Caroline actually thought of that same scene, Raven chowing down dozens pots of food all at once.
With that in mind, Cristian cating ten packets of chicken breast at once didn’t seem like anything special.
After he finished the ten packets, Caroline got out some whole–grain bread and handed it to
him.
Cristian’s face was so flushed now that it was almost painful to look at, and he kept his head down, his eyes darting away.
His ability was great, but the downside was how much food he needed.
That was why, whenever an important task came up, he was always so eager to volunteer–after all, he ate so much on base. He felt he had to really pull his weight to make it worth it.
This time, traveling with Caroline and the others to the desert and meeting some supposedly legendary man, he had jumped at the chance.
He felt that, since he ate so much, he had to pull his weight, or he’d be letting the unit down.
Before leaving, he’d packed loads of compressed biscuits and cockroach flatbread.
The stuff in his backpack was just part of his stash–he had more hidden away elsewhere.
When they’d caught that eagle earlier, he’d been so excited, thinking he’d finally get to have some real meat. Because he ate so much, he normally didn’t dare touch anything expensive at the base–he always went for the cheap stuff. Even for the canned goods the base gave out, he’d trade for cheaper compressed biscuits or cockroach flatbread.
He never thought the eagle meat would end up ruined… He was the only one who knew how much that hurt.
That was why, right before they left, he asked Caroline and Tyler if they still wanted to eat. He was both disappointed about the meat and genuinely hungry. He was secretly hoping that the two of them would say the eagle meat could still be eaten.
But unfortunately, hwwas just too shy and kept holding back.
Caroline kept encouraging him to eat, and he just couldn’t refuse. And before he knew it, he had eaten a ton.
Now, that desperate hunger had finally faded. So when Caroline handed him the whole–grain bread, he tried to push it away. He was already thinking about how to make it up to her for
