Chapter 44
The robot dog seemed to read Scarface’s mind, sidestepping right as he kicked.
Scarface missed, and got even more pissed.
He shot Andrea a furious look. “Did you tell it to do that?”
“I have no idea!” Andrea said, with an innocent look on her face.
Scarface gritted his teeth, realizing he still needed Andrea for something, and bit back his anger.
He took a deep breath, trying to calm himself down. “Come with me.”
Andrea, Dominic, and the robot dog followed Scarface into the room.
The chandelier cast a mesmerizing, dreamlike glow that dazzled Andrea.
Venturing further inside, Scarface pulled aside a beaded curtain, and Andrea spotted someone lying on the bed.
It was a tall woman. Andrea guessed she was about six feet.

Andrea had never seen a woman that tall before. She wondered if maybe the woman was from somewhere up north.
Then she laughed at herself. ‘This is a game world. Why am I even thinking about that?
‘Honestly, the fruits and vegetables in the yard are growing out of season. What difference does it make where people are from?
‘At this rate, the whole north and south thing will probably disappear soon!
“Fix her for me, and I’ll let you go,” Scarface said, looking at the robot with a strange tenderness in his eyes.
“Fix what exactly?” Andrea asked.
Andrea and Dominic exchanged a glance.
Andrea thought, ‘Wait, does he mean fixing a person?
Or is she not even human?’
Scarface pulled back the thin blanket, revealing what was hidden beneath.
Andrea finally saw that it was a robot.
Seriously, man? You’re going all out? Andrea thought
Dominic was clearly shocked, but Andrea shrugged it off She already had Dustin back on her island, atter all
I found her under the sea. The moment I laid eyes on her. I was hooked Scarface said
He looked ready to start rambling about his past
Andrea quickly cut hun off “So, if I fix her, what’s in it for inc??

Scarface didn’t get mad. Instead, his face lit up. “You really think you can pull it off?”
Andrea nodded.
“What do you want? Anything you want from the island is yours, except for her and me,” Scarface said.
For the first time since they met, Scarface gave Andrea a genuine look.
All that stuff was things to him. None of it mattered as much as his love.

When Andrea heard that, the first thing that popped into her head was the foundation stones in the cave. She wondered, ‘If I could haul them all away, how many would there be?
I’m about to get rich!‘
But then she thought that snatching all those foundation stones was a bit over the top.
‘I wonder if he’d even go for that,‘ she mused.
“I’d like some of your crops, fruits, and a few chickens,” Andrea said, keeping her request modest.
“No problem. Once she’s fixed, you get two hours to take whatever you want,” Scarface replied. He didn’t even blink, as if those things meant nothing to him.
“I want some foundation stones too,” Andrea said.
Scarface paused for a moment. “Fine, but you gotta grab them within those two hours.”
Andrea hadn’t expected him to agree so fast. She hurried to reassure him, “Don’t worry, I’ll be done in under two hours. I promise.”
Scarface still looked doubtful, but kept quiet. Right now, all that mattered to him was bringing his beloved robot back to life.
Losing the island was nothing to him.
‘I’ll need some energy cores too,” Andrea added.
Scarface glanced at his stash, and for the first time, he actually looked a bit troubled. “Energy cores are tough to get. Anything over 200 is a pain. How many do you need?”
Andrea could tell he wasn’t being stingy. He really couldn’t get that many.
Even the NPCs think it’s tough. Where do folks even find these things?‘ Andrea wondered.
But Andrea wasn’t about to back down. She decided to ask for exactly what Scarface said would be tough to give
Andrea said. “It’s not like I want them for myself. It’s that fixing things burns through energy cores. For your robot, I’ll need at least 201
“How many? Scarface gave Andrea a long, hard look, trying to figure out if she was joking.
But Andrea’s expression was so sincere that it was almost comically carnest
In the end, Scarface reached out and tenderly brushed his beloved robot’s hair
He said. Tomorrow Then, he rushed out

Jackpot, Andrea thought with a sly grin.
She couldn’t help but flash a triumphant smile.
It was getting late, and night was about to fall.
As soon as Scarface left, the shark man who’d brought Andrea to the estate appeared in front of them.
“You two, follow me. It’s time for dinner,” he said.

They walked into a spacious room, surrounded by floor–to–ceiling windows, with a giant crystal chandelier hanging overhead.
On a huge round table that could seat twenty people, Andrea spotted an epic octopus feast waiting for them.
There were fried octopus, braised octopus, octopus in vinegar, and grilled octopus.
The delicious aroma filled the whole room. Dominic was practically drooling.
But Andrea sat there, not daring to touch a thing.
She suddenly realized she’d forgotten to warn the shark man that her crossbow bolts were laced with poison.
Staring at the mouthwatering spread, Andrea was about to say something when the other two started digging in.
‘Stop. That stuff’s poisoned!” Andrea shouted.
She quickly tried to stop them.
The shark man gave her a puzzled look.
Dominic froze.
They both looked up. Dominic had a piece of octopus tentacle stuck in his mouth, caught between swallowing and spitting it
but.
The shark man shrugged, totally unfazed. “The poison’s been neutralized. Worst case, I’ll get a bit of an upset stomach. I’ve had my eye on this thing for a while. Today, I’m definitely eating it, no matter what.
This thing’s quick on its feet. Honestly, I owe you one for helping me catch it.”
Andrea gave an awkward smile, but decided not to say anything else.
Seriously, what’s the deal between him and that octopus?‘ Andrea thought.
She still couldn’t figure out why that octopus went after her so relentlessly the moment it saw her.
Either way, she’d already given them a proper heads–up.
Andrea stuck to her soup without a hint of guilt, refusing to go anywhere near the octopus.
Honestly, the shark man could cook He was almost as good as Dustin
Andrea ended up polishing off three bowls of soup
Dominic figured that since he’d already taken the first bite, he might as well keep going, so he dug in and ate his till

That night. Andrea crashed in the room the shark man had set up for her. All night long, she could hear Dominic running back and forth to the bathroom next door.
The robot dog had accepted Andrea as its owner, keeping watch outside her door all night. Any little noise, and it’d get up and start patrolling.
Honestly, having the robot dog on guard made Andrea feel a lot safer.
Early the next morning, Andrea headed to the dining room for breakfast.
She walked in to find Dominic and the shark man sprawled out on the round table, looking like they’d survived a war.
The confident shark man from yesterday was nowhere to be seen. He barely managed to lift his head and gave Andrea a weak thumbs–up.
“You’re tough…” he muttered.
