Chapter 49
Chapter 49
Andrea’s guess was spot on.
At 7:55 PM, the rankings shifted in a way that caught most people off guard.
A name that hadn’t been in the top ten suddenly shot up in half a minute.
It was Travis Walsh from Server 1002, with 1804 construction points.
That was 61 points more than Andrea’s current 1,743. His score was still creeping up bit by bit.
With things getting urgent, Andrea took out all the furniture and decorations she’d gotten from the trading hall.
She spread them out everywhere. It looked like a furniture showroom had popped up overnight.
But she was still a few points short. As she was about to collect the items from her mailbox, Dustin suddenly called out to her from outside.
Dustin was always calm and reliable. With the ranking competition going on, he definitely wouldn’t interrupt her unless it was something serious.
‘Did something urgent happen?’ Andrea wondered.
Andrea glanced at the timer. There were only three minutes left.
She made up her mind and headed outside to see what Dustin wanted.
‘There’ll be more competitions later, but if I miss something important now, that’s way worse. Andrea thought
Andrea was too busy to check the Chat Channel, so she had no idea it was exploding with frantic messages.
A person wrote: [Andrea, hurry up and grab the stuff I sent. It’s totally free. I want someone from our server to shay first place!]
Another wrote: [Me too! Why aren’t you receiving it, Andrea? I’m dying here!]
Someone wrote: [You’re a few points away. Don’t overthink it now!]
Someone else wrote: [Oh no, we’re getting passed!]
The messages in the Happy Days group were flooding the screen. Everyone was sending over everything they could spare desperate to help Andrea out.
But Andrea still hadn’t responded. The group was practically tearing their hair out. They felt like diving to the coin to calm down.
Andrea was glad she’d trusted Dustin.
When she opened the door, she was stunned. The ground outside was covered with preman plots
According to the system prompt, there were a whopping forty-seven of their
There were also some fruit tree saplings, fully grown fruit trees, and a low eat his kens

Andrea didn’t bother asking where it all came from. She quickly placed down all the premium plots and had Dustin and Scar help her plant the rest of the saplings and trees.
Seconds before the eight o’clock deadline, they finally finished everything.
Players across the game were absolutely stunned.
The fight for first place was so mind-blowing that it was beyond belief.
It was like riding a rollercoaster. Their hearts were about to jump out of their chests.
The top three seemed locked in, but suddenly, a wild card blasted out of nowhere and rocketed straight to first place.
Then came a neck-and-neck battle for first place. With two minutes left on the clock, everyone figured Andrea was out of luck and started feeling bad for her.
But in those last two minutes, she surged ahead, piling on three hundred construction points and firmly snatching back the top spot.
When the system notification sounded to mark the end of the rankings, Andrea was still a bit stunned.
Her nerves were so taut she felt a tingling at the back of her head, and it took her a moment to recover.
She sent back all the items people had gifted her via email, then dropped a thank you in both the Chat Channel and the Happy Days group.
Only then did Andrea give Dustin a questioning look.
But Dustin shrugged and glanced over at Scar.
Andrea followed his gaze and saw Scar sprawled out on the ground, clearly not feeling well.
Scar burped.
Andrea was totally baffled, ‘Wait, what? Scar doesn’t even eat.
‘Does it even have a digestive system?’
Andrea’s
eyes
nearly popped out of her head.
“Sorry, Boss. I was so excited to come to the island with you that I totally forgot that I brought you some gifts, Scar sud
Scar’s mouth moved. It spoke with a loud and clear voice.
Andrea blinked in surprise. She never realized Scar could string together such a long sentence-
Was it overloaded and feeling out of sorts earlier? Andrea wondered to herself
She remembered that when they were evacuating from Scarface’s islamul Scar had taken a whir to cap
‘So that’s it. Scar must’ve gone to pick up some plots! Andrea realized.
They couldn’t dig up premium plots by force but if the foundation collapsest the plots would get separated. Even though Scar was a bit late, it still ended up saving the day

Andrea gave Scar a gentle pat on the head. “No need to apologize. You totally saved the day this time!”
“Really?” Scar chirped.
Scar spun around in circles, practically vibrating with joy at the praise.
Dustin was happy as well. Seeing Scar get praised made his heart feel all warm and fuzzy.
Back in her bedroom, Andrea finally let herself unwind and relax after all the excitement.
That was when she finally claimed her ranking reward.
It was a golden treasure chest again.
After all that frantic work, Andrea was smeared with soil and dust all over.
She made sure to shower off, then sat quietly in front of the treasure chest for a full minute, gathering herself with a deep breath before finally opening it.
[You opened a special treasure chest and received a set of self-service merchant tool, 1,000 gold coins, and a Basic Data Enhancement Card.]
Andrea thought, ‘What?
“That’s all?’
She could hardly believe it. She felt that this special treasure chest was not very satisfying.
The 1,000 gold coins and the enhancement card were pretty nice.
But the self-service merchant tool was confusing.
She was out on the ocean. She could go days without seeing another soul. There was no way she would need that tool
Andrea tapped open the item description, and after reading through it, she thought it was actually pretty cool
[Self-service merchant tool: Automatically rotates in a new product for sale. Players can choose to buy the item and put up at their stall.
[After you sell out, you’ll need a Refresh Card to unlock a new product.
[You can only sell products you’ve bought from the system. No personal items are allowed
[You can sell to NPCs, monsters, or other players.
[Current tool level: 1. Each time you refresh the product, you can only purchase up to 5 units.) Andrea took out the self-service merchant tool and set it up in her bedroom.
It looked exactly like the kind of pushcart she would see at a street market buil bir now, it was totally
Following the prompts. Andrea operated the pushcart through the holographic scrØCH
She tapped the “Purchase button
There was only one item available, which was Energy Botaste.

Energy Booster? Is this the same stuff I drank before? Andrea wondered
she tapped open the item description and saw that it was exactly the same as the one she’d used in the last dungeon
This thing is seriously valuable I have to buy it? Andrea thought
The purchase price was 30 gold coins, but the recommended price was 100 gold coins
Wait, that’s an insane markup! Andrea thought
Andrea’s jaw practically hit the floor
She never thought of herself as the cutthroat type
Since the system was encouraging her to do it, she figured, ‘Well, it the official recommendation is this shameless, maybe it’s fine for me to be a little greedy too!
After checking out the rules a bit more, Andrea realized that every time she sold something with this tool, the system would snatch a whopping 30% commission right off the top.
No wonder Turns out I’m not the greedy one here. It’s the system that’s really playing dirty, Andrea thought
least the
on would drop as the tool leveled up.
Andrea maxed out her purchase limit for the Energy Boosters, then shot a look at the refresh button beside it
The first refresh would set her back 3,000 gold coinx. Cash wasn’t allowed.
She had to pay using the merchant tool’s internal balance.
Andrea’s mouth twitched. She thought. “This is highway robbery.
Not a chance I’m refreshing that
‘No way in hell?
Right now, she only had the 1,000 gold coins the system gave her as starting capital
After messing with the merchant tool for a while. Andrea realized she couldn’t deposit any of her own gold internal balance
Even if she wanted to use the products, she still had to buy them to the stall at the wet pon
