She didn’t refuse, just raised an eyebrow. “Finished dealing with the little one, Professor Shaw? Think you can handle all this?”
Adrian glanced down at the booklet, his tone even but assured, “Organizing a list and checking gifts is a little easier than
explaining the origin of the universe.”
Rebecca couldn’t help but laugh out loud, and the stress of the busy afternoon seemed to melt away a bit.
Under the night sky, with the guests gone and the lights
dimming, The Willow Creek Manor took on a special kind of
tranquility.
She tilted her head, watching for a moment, then suddenly said,
“Adrian, I want to go to your place tonight.”
Adrian suddenly paused.
He looked up, his eyes landing on Rebecca with a questioning
gaze.
Once he understood what Rebecca meant, a hint of joy
appeared on Adrian’s face.
Chapter 320
“Not in a hurry to go home this time?”
On their previous dates, they’d often end up at Adrian’s apartment.
But every time things started to get more intense, Rebecca
would get cold feet and mumble about having to go home early for work the next day.
Rebecca chuckled at Adrian’s deliberate teasing.
“It’s my dad’s birthday, so I’m giving myself a few days off. That’s reasonable, right?”
After she said that, her smile grew a little more complex.
“Besides… didn’t I tell you today, there’s something I need to
talk to you about.”
“Mmm.”
Adrian nodded, “I remember. We’ll go to my place after we
finish up here.”
“Okay.”
They were both efficient people, they were both efficient people, and they quickly took care of the remaining cleanup,

finishing the final handover with the hotel manager.
As they walked to the parking lot, the cool night breeze blew
away the daytime noise.
Rebecca watched Adrian’s straight back as he walked half a
step ahead of her, her heart starting to race for no reason, her
palms even growing a little sweaty.
It wasn’t the first time she’d been to his place, but this time, it
felt completely different.
Once inside the car, the enclosed space instantly made the
atmosphere subtle and quiet.
There was only the low hum of the engine starting and the soft
whoosh of the AC.
Rebecca was a little nervous, her fingers unconsciously picking
at the edge of her seatbelt as her gaze drifted to the colorful
lights streaking past the window.
She tried to find a topic to break the heart–pounding silence, but
didn’t know where to start.
The car drove smoothly, and as they passed a 24–hour
convenience store, its bright lights felt like a sudden cue.
Chapter 320
Rebecca seemed to be suddenly startled awake, shot upright,
and almost blurted out: “Um… Adrian, stop the car.”
Adrian did as she said, slowly pulling the car over to the side of
the road. He turned his head to look at her, his eyes looking
particularly deep in the dim light of the car: “What’s wrong?
Forgot something?”
Rebecca’s cheeks burned, her eyes darting away, not daring to
look at him. Her voice was barely a whisper:
“No… C–could you get out and buy… you know… that thing…”
Her voice got quieter and quieter, the last few words barely
leaving her throat.
A knowing smile slowly formed in his eyes as he quietly
watched her rare display of shyness mixed with forced
composure.
He didn’t get out of the car immediately, but instead leaned
over slightly, closing the distance between them.
Rebecca could even smell his crisp, clean scent, mixed with a
faint, studious air that made her heart beat even faster.
Chapter 320
A low and gentle voice sounded by her ear, carrying a barely- there hint of teasing and complete patience: “Which one?”
Rebecca, both embarrassed and flustered by his feigned ignorance, couldn’t help but glare at him.
“Which one do you think?”
Adrian looked at how cute she was, with even her ears turning
