What She Overheard in Her Own Marriage novel Chapter 160

Noelle immediately clasped her hands behind her back and stepped aside, her gaze soft. "Okay. Drive safe. Get some rest."

Finnian nodded and walked away, his long strides eating up the distance.

Noelle stayed where she was, leaning against the doorframe, looking around the small lounge filled with so many beautiful memories, the affection in her eyes deepening.

The next morning, Brynlee threw a minor tantrum about going back to school after being away for so long. She only perked up when both Finnian and Kaia promised to drop her off together.

Finnian's black Bentley pulled up to the curb. He stepped out first, walked around to open the other door, and lifted Brynlee out. Kaia followed closely behind.

Finnian was wearing a black overcoat, and Kaia was dressed similarly in a black trench. Standing together in the crisp morning air, they looked like an incredibly powerful, striking power couple, drawing admiring stares from the other parents.

Outside the gates, kids were trickling into the schoolyard.

As Finnian and Kaia walked up hand-in-hand with Brynlee, the Principal and her homeroom teacher rushed over to greet them.

Kaia took the opportunity to update them on Brynlee's condition and a few specific guidelines.

Given Finnian's status and his massive financial contributions to the school, Brynlee was guaranteed VIP treatment.

Finnian didn't have to say a word. The Principal and teachers knew exactly how valuable the Sanders family was, treating them like absolute royalty.

Just then, a sleek black Maybach rolled up and parked nearby.

The door opened, and Simon Quinn stepped out, carrying Anna Quinn, whose hair was tied up in two little buns.

"Anna!" Brynlee, who had been a bit anxious, instantly lit up at the sight of her friend.

"Brynlee, you're back!" Anna, a total sweetheart, flashed a huge grin. She wriggled out of her uncle's arms, ran over, and grabbed Brynlee's hand. The two of them started jumping up and down excitedly.

Simon walked over with a warm smile, his eyes immediately landing on Kaia. "Kaia, is she feeling better?"

Kaia remembered Simon texting her out of concern the day Brynlee was rushed to the hospital.

She offered a genuine smile. "She's all better. Cleared to go back to school."

Simon looked visibly relieved. "That's wonderful news."

He then turned to Finnian, offering a polite but distant nod. "Mr. Sanders."

Finnian's demeanor had turned frigid the second Simon appeared. He offered a tight, forced smile. "Mr. Quinn. Morning."

After giving Simon the absolute bare minimum of an acknowledgment, Finnian's gaze darted between him and Kaia, his jaw clenching visibly.
