What She Overheard in Her Own Marriage novel Chapter 232

A quiet Italian restaurant.

Kaia pushed open the glass doors. The warm glow of the evening sun spilled through the windows, casting a heavy, rich ambiance over the dark wooden floors.

"Kaia!" Silas was sitting by the window. Beside him sat a woman with a sleek, short haircut, dressed in a simple black gown.

Kaia was slightly surprised when she saw Seraphina. Despite her short brown hair, she carried herself with an incredible elegance. Her features were clean and striking, her soft jawline bearing a resemblance to Silas.

"Seraphina, this is Kaia. You've probably seen her pictures," Silas introduced immediately.

"It's wonderful to meet you, Seraphina. I'm Kaia." Kaia offered a polite smile and shook the hand Seraphina extended to her.

"Silas talks about you all the time. He says you're a tech genius. It's great to finally meet you in person," Seraphina said, her voice pleasantly low and soothing.

Kaia couldn't hide her surprise. The bubbly, carefree teenage voice from the videos felt worlds apart from the sophisticated woman sitting in front of her.

The voice in the footage had been full of innocent, unburdened youth.

"You rarely visit, so we haven't had the chance to cross paths," Kaia replied with a smile.

The three of them chatted casually as the food arrived. Kaia learned that Seraphina was currently taking a break, traveling the world with a close group of friends and pursuing extreme sports. As Seraphina put it, either her body or her soul needed to be free.

Kaia completely agreed with that sentiment. The Sanders family's wealth gave Seraphina the freedom to do whatever she pleased. She never had to work; her only job was to experience life to the fullest.

Silas was much quieter, only chiming in to remind his sister to pace herself with the wine.

"Silas told me you've been watching the videos I took back then. Kaia, I'm so sorry. Did they hurt you? I already yelled at him for being so reckless," Seraphina said, shooting a sharp glare at her brother.
