What She Overheard in Her Own Marriage novel Chapter 342

Simon drove them straight back to the hotel.

After parking, he stepped out and opened the rear door for them.

"Thank you," Kaia said softly as she stepped onto the pavement. Simon paused, his gaze lingering on her. "Did you... have a good time today?"

Kaia offered a genuine smile, nodding. "I had a wonderful time. Thank you for being such a great guide."

Simon looked down, a soft laugh escaping him. "Good. As long as you're happy."

Beside them, Celine groaned dramatically. "Cousin, you're hopeless. Sometimes you just have to make a move when the moment is right."

A rush of color hit Simon's cheeks. He deliberately avoided Kaia's eyes, terrified that his deeper feelings for her were too obvious.

Kaia shot Celine a pleading look, discreetly tugging at her sleeve.

Catching the hint, Celine beamed and kept her mouth shut. It was obvious that, for now, Kaia only saw Simon as a friend.

After bidding Simon goodnight, the two women headed for the elevators.

At that exact moment, halfway across the world in Canada, Noelle Lawrence lay perfectly still on an operating table at the American Reproductive Health Center, waiting quietly.

Three years ago, she had lain in this exact same spot for two agonizing hours.

Back then, she didn't fully realize why she was making this decision. Rafael Sanders had thought it was unnecessary, but she had spun a beautiful lie about wanting to guarantee him both a son and a daughter at once.

Rafael had easily agreed.

But in reality, Noelle's motivation was far darker. Kaia had just given birth to a daughter, and Noelle was determined to beat her—not just in quality, but in sheer quantity.

Staring at the ceiling, she finally stood up. Two hours later, she walked out of the clinic's grand doors.

Two embryos had just been successfully implanted in her womb.
