What She Overheard in Her Own Marriage novel Chapter 461

Chad nodded. Bringing this up made him inexplicably angry. "Finnian has really let Dr. Chavez down after everything she's done for Aethelstan. Don't tell me he took her good temper and easygoing nature for granted, deliberately ignoring her sacrifices?"

Julian's mind was already a chaotic mess from listening to them. He stood up abruptly, his expression dark. "I don't believe Noelle is the kind of person to hurt others. She definitely didn't do it on purpose. She must have just been inexplicably dragged into this..."

"Julian, I think you're so blinded by love you've lost your mind. The reason you never dared to confess your feelings before was because you were convinced Noelle was in love with Finnian, right?"

Julian was at a loss for words. He ran his hands through his hair in frustration. "Enough, I'm not listening to you guys anymore. I'm going to find Noelle and ask her myself."

"Don't let her deceive you again," Chad said, his voice laced with concern.

"I'm not an idiot, and I'm not a three-year-old child. I can tell right from wrong. Who could possibly trick me?" With that, Julian turned, grabbed his jacket, and stormed out.

Quentin and Chad stared at each other in silence for a moment. "Didn't we agree that whoever invited the other would pay?"

"Julian drank all the liquor by himself; he should be the one footing the bill," Chad said with a laugh. "But whatever, I'll pay. I guess I just like playing the nice guy."

Quentin rolled his eyes at him. "I've noticed you've been bringing up Kaia a lot more frequently lately. You... don't tell me you want to get involved in that mess too?"

Chad's dark eyes flickered, and he smiled. "As if it would ever be my turn. But, you know, if years down the line I haven't found anyone suitable and Dr. Chavez is still single, I might just consider it."

"Aren't you afraid Finnian will punch you too?"

"He wouldn't be that petty. If he really divorces Dr. Chavez, he'll definitely move on and won't have any lingering feelings. He's always been a freakishly rational guy," Chad said, sounding overly confident.

Quentin thought about it for a second. "That's true. Out of all of us, he's the most rational, and he's also the one who's built the biggest empire."

A hint of disappointment flickered across Chad's face.
