He never in his wildest dreams imagined Noelle would choose now, of all times, to get pregnant.
If she had gotten pregnant after remarrying, he wouldn't have batted an eye. But she was finally free, yet she tied herself down with this massive burden. She was just asking for trouble.
If she didn't have this baby, she would have endless options. Now? He didn't believe any man would willingly marry a woman carrying another man's child.
Even he couldn't accept it.
"What are you looking at?" Noelle generously showed off her baby bump. "Over four months."
Julian muttered an "oh" and pulled out his chair to sit. Frowning deeply, he asked, "Why?"
"Why what?" Noelle smiled, maintaining her usual sweet, gentle demeanor.
"Why keep this baby? Don't you know this kid is going to stop you from starting a new life?" Julian asked, clearly frustrated.
"Julian, I owe Rafael a child. I hope whoever takes responsibility for the rest of my life will be able to accept me having this baby," Noelle said with complete, unapologetic confidence.
"Don't overestimate men," Julian said bluntly.
"Then I just won't get married." Noelle's next sentence made Julian's face freeze entirely.
His fingers tightened around his glass, stiffening for a long moment.
Noelle, looking completely unfazed, asked, "Julian, do you know what Finnian has been busy with lately?"
Noelle bit her lip, lowering her head. After a long pause, she murmured, "It's not like you just found out I like him. What's the big deal?"
"So, you getting pregnant with Rafael's baby... are you trying to force Finnian to step up? What are you thinking? Finnian isn't an idiot. Why would he raise your kid? You think he's going to do something no other man would?" Julian had been holding onto this dark, festering anger for weeks. Words he never dared to say before all came spilling out today.
Noelle's expression shifted from red to pale to green. She flared up, "Julian, I asked you out because I consider you a friend. Do you really have to humiliate me like this?"
"I'm only saying this because I care about you," Julian fired back, but he genuinely was looking out for her.
Noelle could tell. Growing up in the Sanders family, very few people ever spoke the truth to her. Julian was indeed one of her few real friends.
"If you really care about me, then can you help me? I don't know what's wrong with Finnian lately. He won't answer my calls or reply to my texts. I'm so anxious." Noelle put on a pitiful expression, looking at Julian pleadingly.

The readers' comments on the novel: What She Overheard in Her Own Marriage
Finnian is finally awake to Noelle’s schemes! I hope he cuts the cord completely and brutally. He needs to truly repent and suffer the consequences for all the pain he caused Kaia and his blatant favoritism toward Noelle. Only then should there be even a slight hope of Kaia softening her heart....
Why does this book take so long to update, instead of 5 chapters mentioned above, we are getting about one chapter a day on average! please do not leave the readers on cliffhangers! thank you....
