Noelle's arm slammed right into Tanya's, a sharp sting flaring up.
"I heard you moved out of the Sanders estate," Tanya leaned in, lowering her voice to a malicious whisper. "What happened? How could our famous Miss Sanders be forced out? Did you have a falling out with your dear brother?"
The women around them smirked, their expressions dripping with schadenfreude.
Noelle's grip on her purse tightened, the smile vanishing from her face. "That is my personal business. None of your concern," she said coldly.
Tanya let out a soft, mocking laugh. "Is that so? If you don't explain, we'll just assume the Sanders family threw you out. After all, you're just an adopted daughter. Your husband is gone, you have no backing left, so getting kicked to the curb is perfectly normal."
The words were brutal, slicing right through the facade and drawing blood.
Noelle's face drained of color, her lips trembling with rage.
These women had definitely suffered at Noelle's hands in the past. Back then, hiding behind the power of the Sanders family and the protection of the two Sanders brothers, Noelle had walked all over them.
Who knew the tables would turn so quickly? Now that she was down on her luck, these nobodies were stepping on her head.
"I'm pregnant with a Sanders heir. If you dare touch me, you'll suffer the consequences," Noelle snapped, taking a step toward Tanya.
Tanya glanced at Noelle's stomach and nervously took two steps back. "Just a joke. What, you used to mess with us all the time for fun, didn't you?"
Noelle glanced at Heather, but Heather was looking down at her phone, not saying a word to defend her, acting as if she suddenly had extremely urgent business to attend to.
A suffocating sense of humiliation flooded Noelle's chest. Anyone else's friend would step up and argue on their behalf. Heather chose to play deaf and dumb. What good was a friend like that?
"Noelle, don't mind them. Let's go, I'll buy you dessert."
Heather reached out to link arms, but Noelle instinctively pulled away. She forced a stiff smile. "Heather, I've been walking a lot today, and Dr. Evans said I shouldn't overdo it. I'm going to head home."
Heather assumed Noelle was just in a bad mood after being bullied by Tanya, so she smiled. "Alright, go get some rest. We'll hang out another time."
Noelle rode the elevator down with her, and they got into their respective cars.
Glancing in the rearview mirror as Heather's car drove off, Noelle sneered internally.
Last time, Heather had been the one desperately trying to be her friend, the one oversharing to build a bond.

Finnian is finally awake to Noelle’s schemes! I hope he cuts the cord completely and brutally. He needs to truly repent and suffer the consequences for all the pain he caused Kaia and his blatant favoritism toward Noelle. Only then should there be even a slight hope of Kaia softening her heart....
Why does this book take so long to update, instead of 5 chapters mentioned above, we are getting about one chapter a day on average! please do not leave the readers on cliffhangers! thank you....
