What She Overheard in Her Own Marriage novel Chapter 570

She needed to ask Finnian about this in person. No matter what, this scandal was tied to her.

Plus, she missed him. She hadn't seen him in so long.

She could only see his face—the face that made her heart race—on her phone, in her dreams, or in the quiet hours of the night.

Because of Elaine's interrogation over Rafael's death, Noelle was racked with guilt. She had been hiding out at Chloe's house for days, too terrified to step outside or see anyone from the Sanders family.

But some cravings were like weeds; the harder you tried to crush them, the wilder they grew.

For eighteen years, Noelle had been used to being protected, spoiled, and adored. Now, she was crashing at Chloe's house. Even though the rest of the family treated her well, Chloe constantly looked at her with pure disgust. Noelle could swallow all that.

But the man who once swore to protect her for the rest of her life now refused to even look at her.

Noelle changed into what she considered her most beautiful outfit, grabbed her purse, and headed out.

She drove to The Sanders Tower. The moment she stepped into the lobby, she was stopped by the beautiful receptionist.

"Ms. Lawrence, are you here to see Mr. Sanders?" The receptionist's tone was polite enough as she approached, but the title had changed.

Noelle stared at her in disbelief. "What did you just call me?"

The receptionist smiled. "Ms. Lawrence."

"What did you used to call me?"

The smile on the receptionist's face stiffened. "Miss Sanders."

Noelle was already pregnant, her hormones all over the place, and her mood had been terrible lately. She was practically explosive. She sneered, "Me what? You're the one who disrespected me first, you snobby little bitch."

Tears spilled from the receptionist's eyes. She turned away and immediately made a phone call.

Moments later, Dexter appeared in the ground floor lobby.

Seeing Noelle sitting on the lobby sofa with her arms crossed, he walked over. "Ms. Lawrence, what are you doing? Assault is a crime."

When Noelle saw it was Dexter, she stood up, putting on a victimized expression. "Dexter, she insulted me first. I only hit her to teach her a lesson."

"Ms. Lawrence, you have no right to assault anyone on company property. You can either apologize and compensate her privately, or... she can report this to the police." Dexter already knew the truth about Noelle from Finnian, and he had been deeply shocked. He never imagined that the gentle, sweet, and seemingly innocent Noelle was actually a snake in disguise. She had even played a role in the eldest young master's death. What was she, if not a venomous viper?

"Dexter, I need to see Finnian. I'll only apologize directly to him." Noelle still hadn't grasped reality, completely oblivious to the depth of the hole she was in.
