What She Overheard in Her Own Marriage novel Chapter 95

Sophia's expression shifted awkwardly. She glanced at Kaia in the rearview mirror, noticing how tense her sister-in-law looked.

"Kaia, maybe... maybe Leo has a point. You really might want to think about it," Sophia offered gently.

Staring blankly out the window, Kaia replied, "I don't want another child. No one can change my mind."

"Kaia, now isn't the time to be stubborn! Do you have any idea what people are saying out there?" Leo's anxiety spiked. His sister was incredibly intelligent, but right now, she was acting completely oblivious when she should be fighting tooth and nail.

"Leo, what did you hear?" Kaia remembered Celine mentioning how notorious Noelle had become since taking over Aethelstan. Her brother and sister-in-law ran in circles that brushed shoulders with high society; they must have heard the rumors.

"Even if we try to ignore it, the gossip is everywhere. Finnian's widowed sister-in-law..." Leo stopped himself abruptly, snapping his mouth shut.

Sophia checked Kaia's expression again. Even though Kaia looked calm, hearing rumors about her husband and his sister-in-law had to feel like a knife to the chest.

"Alright, Leo, that's enough. I don't believe those rumors for a second. It's obviously just some malicious people trying to mess with Kaia's head. What kind of homewrecker is that high-profile? If there was really something going on, they'd hide it better," Sophia reasoned, clearly a sharp woman who saw the logic behind the chaos.

Leo paused, his panic fading into relief. "Wait, so you think the rumors are fake?"

"Obviously. Do you know who Finnian Sanders is? If he was actually involved with her, he would have locked down the situation long before anyone found out," Sophia declared confidently.

Listening to them, Kaia let out a cold, internal laugh.

They even went to the hospital together for checkups. That definitely counted as "locking down the situation."

Noelle wanted to give him a healthy baby, and he had silently agreed to it. If his heart was already given to someone else, why did he keep pretending to be such a devoted father? It was pure hypocrisy.

"Kaia, say something! Stop leaving me hanging!" Leo was practically sweating. His company could survive for a lifetime off the scraps of The Sanders Conglomerate. If his sister lost her status as Mrs. Sanders, his access to those resources would vanish.

Ultimately, he was fighting for his own bottom line.

Kaia looked at her brother. "I don't have much to say. But if he really is cheating, I'll divorce him."

The word "divorce" hit the car like a bomb. Leo and Sophia were stunned.
