She smiled against his lips. “You really don’t want to go to work
“I don’t.”
“Then what do you want to do?
“Stay here”
“And?”
“With you.”
“And?”
He looked at her with open amusement now “You’re trying to trap me into saying something inappropriate.”
“I’m trying to see if you have shame”
“I don’t. At least not with you”
Cassienne laughed again, this time more freely Dreston’s expression softened as he watched her.
These were the moments he really missed while they were pretending, hiding, calculating every movement for Tina’s benefit and the world’s confusion. He missed waking with his wife Missed teasing her. Missed watching her laugh before the day found
reasons to steal it away.
A knock sounded gently on the bedroom door before either of them could continue.
Cassienne turned first. Dreston closed his eyes with visible irritation.
“Whoever that is,” he muttered, “has terrible timing.”
Cassienne sat up, pulling the sheet higher over herself. “Come in.”
One of the household staff opened the door just enough to speak respectfully. “Good morning, Mrs. Tremont. Mr. Tremont.
Breakfast is ready downstairs, and Miss Jessica is in the sitting room.”
Cassienne blinked. “Jessica is here already?”
“She arrived early, ma’am. She said it was urgent, but she also said not to rush because, and i quote, ‘I am not trying to get murdered by Dreston before breakfast.“”
Cassienne burst into laughter immediately.
Even Dreston’s irritation shifted into reluctant amusement. “That girl needs discipline”
“She is your cousin,” Cassienne reminded him.
“Unfortunately.”
The staff member tried very hard not to smile as she excused herself and closed the door
sienne turned back to Dreston “We should go downstairs
“Five more minutes”
“That is what you said last night before delving everything
His mouth curved slightly “And did you regret it”*
Cassienne stared at him, then parked up one of the pillkoners and hit hit lightly with it. Dreston laughed, catching the pillow before pulling her back down for one last kiss. It took longer than one kiss should have, and by the time Cassienne finally managed to leave the bed, her cheeks were warm and Direction looked far too satisfied with himself.
After they freshened up They came domstairs nearly thirty minutes later

Dreston walked in behind Cassienne, buttoning the cuff of his shirt as he gave his cousin a flat look. “Good morning to you too.”
Jessica waved him off without fear “Good morning, brooding CEO I need Cassienne.”
Cassienne smiled as she moved toward the dining table “You look excited.”
“Excited?” Jessica placed a hand dramatically over her chest. “Cass, my soul left my body and returned with wings.”
Dreston pulled out a chair for Cassienne before sitting beside her. “That sounds medical.”
Jessica ignored him completely and turned her phone screen toward Cassienne. “My team has been invited to the Nexora Global Tech and E–Sports Gala in Lisbourn.”
