Chapter Three Hundred And Thirty: Where Are You?
The Noah family rarely had breakfast together these days. Between business meetings, travel schedules, company responsibilities, and Daisy’s work in Southvale, gathering around the same table had become something of a luxury.
That was why Mrs. Noah looked particularly happy that morning. She sat at the head of the long dining table, smiling warmly while instructing one of the housekeepers to bring more coffee. Across from her, Mr. Noah was in unusually good spirits as well, occasionally commenting on business news while enjoying his breakfast.
Daisy should have been enjoying the peaceful atmosphere. Instead, her attention remained fixed on her brother.
Kael had barely spoken since sitting down. Normally, he wasn’t the most talkative person in the room. He had always been calmer than most people. More reserved. And more thoughtful.
But this was different. His silence made people worried. Mrs. Noah noticed it. Then Daisy too.
Eventually, even his father put down his coffee cup and looked directly at his son. “You’ve been staring at the same piece of toast for five minutes.”
Kael looked down, the toast remained untouched. “I was thinking.”
His father snorted. “Dangerous habit.”
Daisy smiled slightly. Her mother rolled her eyes. Unfortunately, Kael didn’t even react. And that alone was enough to confirm that something was wrong.
Mr. Noah leaned back in his chair and studied his son for several moments before speaking again. “I think it’s time you got married.”
Daisy nearly choked on her juice.
Her mother sighed immediately. “Must we start the day with this conversation?”
“We must,” Mr. Noah replied confidently. “The man isn’t getting any younger.”
Kael calmly reached for his coffee. “Dad.”
“What?”
“I am thirty-two.”
“Exactly.”
Daisy laughed.
Her father pointed his fork toward Kael dramatically. “Do you know what I was doing at thirty-two?”
“Being annoying?” Daisy suggested.
Her father ignored her completely. “I already had a wife and children.”
“You still have a wife and children,” Daisy pointed out.
“That’s not the point.”
“It sounds exactly like the point.”
Mrs. Noah laughed softly. Even Kael’s mouth twitched slightly. For a moment, Daisy thought the mood had

improved.
Then her father spoke again. “I’ve been thinking. Perhaps it’s time we move things forward with the Tremont family.”
The smile immediately disappeared from Kael’s face. Daisy noticed it instantly.
So did their mother.
Mr. Noah either didn’t notice or chose to continue anyway. “Nora Tremont is a good girl.”
The atmosphere changed completely. Daisy felt it immediately. Her mother stopped smiling.
Kael’s expression hardened. And suddenly nobody seemed interested in breakfast anymore.
Mr. Noah continued. “If you marry Nora, it will also help-”
“Stop.”
The word wasn’t loud. But it carried enough weight to silence the entire table.
Kael slowly placed his coffee cup down. Then looked directly at his father. “Don’t even go there.”
His father’s eyebrows lifted slightly.
“I know what I want,” Kael said calmly. “And I know how to get it.”
Mr. Noah released a frustrated breath. “For how long?”
Nobody answered.
His father shook his head. “For how long will you continue chasing after a girl who doesn’t even know you exist?”
The silence deepened. Daisy blinked.
Mrs. Noah lowered her eyes.
But Mr. Noah continued. “Forget the past and move on.”
His mother finally joined the conversation. “Your father isn’t entirely wrong, Kael.”
Daisy looked between them in confusion.
Mrs. Noah spoke gently. “Marrying a girl from the Tremont family isn’t a bad thing.”
Kael remained silent.
“Nora is a good girl.”
This time his mother smiled slightly. “She can be difficult. We all know that.”
Daisy almost laughed. That was one way to describe Nora Tremont. Then she froze. She looked up sharply. “Wait.”
Nobody moved. Daisy looked at her mother. Then her father.
Then back to Kael. “Wait, wait, wait.”
Still nobody spoke.
Her eyes widened. “Since when?”

Nothing. A complete silence.
Daisy pointed dramatically. “Since when are Nora Tremont and Kael a thing?”
Still, no one said anything.
The answer was apparently hidden behind a family conspiracy nobody bothered sharing with her.
Daisy looked horrified. “You people have meetings without me.”
Kael stood up. “I’m going upstairs.”
His father sighed.
His mother looked disappointed.
And before anybody could continue the conversation, Kael excused himself and left the dining room.
Daisy stared after him for two seconds.
Then immediately she stood up too. “I’m following him.”
“No teasing your brother,” her mother called.
“No promises.”

Kael’s bedroom occupied the entire west wing of the second floor. By the time Daisy entered without knocking, he was already standing near the floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the estate.
The position didn’t surprise her. Her brother always stood there whenever something was bothering him.
Daisy quietly closed the door behind her. Then folded her arms. “So.”
Kael didn’t turn around. “So?”
“You and Nora Tremont.”
He said nothing.
“Interesting.”
Still nothing.
“Shocking.”
Silence Continued.
“Scandalous.”
“Daisy.”
She grinned immediately. “There he is.”
Kael finally looked at her. Unfortunately, he looked completely unimpressed. “Don’t try it.”
“What?”
“Whatever you’re doing.
