Chapter Forty-Three: Please, Touch Me.
Tina still couldn’t give a response to Dreston. She adjusted her sitting position in the car, looking forward. Then, in order to change the conversation, she apologised.
“I am sorry for stealing Cassienne’s work. Forgive me,”
She didn’t look at Dreston, she just said the words. That really does the magic because Dreston didn’t visit the matter again.
Tina remembered that Cassienne used to be meek, it was one of her many personalities that Dreston
likes, and that is one thing he likes in her too.
She knew that she wasn’t meek. But if she really wants to keep her man to herself. She has to stop this childish behavior of hers. She will need to go back to pretending to be Cassienne.
Dreston studied her, he felt her apology. This is now the Tina he was used to. The one that always makes his heart beat. Yes, he was angry at her, but he can’t be angry forever.
“Sir, we’re here.” Dreston’s new driver’s voice cut through the tension.
“Thanks, Edward.” Dreston responded to his driver.
Dreston stepped out of the car, strode to Tina’s side and opened the door for her. Tina quietly stepped
out.
Dreston looked at her. Her face looked like she had been crying. Dreston smiled as he tucked a strand of
her hair behind her ear.
“I will see you tomorrow.” He said.
Tina nodded, she turned around and began to walk away.
“Good night, Tina,” Dreston added. But Tina had already disappeared into the night.
When Dreston got home. He walked into the kitchen, opened the fridge and brought out a bottle of water. He grabbed a cup and poured himself some.
When he was done drinking. He looked around the giant house. He was all alone. It felt weird to him.
Before, whenever he returned late. He always feels the presence of Cassienne. She was always there to welcome him back.
Cassienne wouldn’t sleep until he returns back. And he was used to that routine. But now. Nothing. Just him and the quiet mansion.
He doesn’t even eat at home anymore. The chefs were tired of cooking and he was not eating. What changed?
Everything has changed. Cassienne is no longer in the house. That’s what had changed. He had grown used to that routine that now, it felt like this mansion is no longer home for him.

He walked into his bedroom and shook his head. “What is happening to me?” He muttered
Stepping forward. He took off his suit jacket and placed it on the chair. His tie next before he disappeared into the bathroom.
When he returned. He had changed into something more comfortable for the night. He couldn’t understand what was happening to him. He looked restless.
Dreston sat on the bed. He wasn’t feeling sleepy. But he was just restless.
He chuckled. He actually chuckled at his own behaviour. Why was he suddenly feeling lonely? It’s not as if he shared the same room with Cassienne when she was still with him.
Dreston realised that he was already used to the fact that he was not always alone in the mansion. Knowing that she was always there in the other room has always given him peace.
Now that peace is gone. It was the reason he was finding everything strange. Even his encounter with Cassienne at the Club was not helping matters. It only worsened it.
He grabbed his phone and checked the time. It was already late in the night. Every responsible person
should be home now. 1
He searched for Cassienne’s number and he stared at it. He wanted to call her. But he thought, what will he say?
He shook his head, amused that he was really doing this. He lay down on his bed trying to find sleep.
