Chapter Eighty–Four: Did Cassienne Has Iron In Her Hands?

Dreston stared at the large monitor mounted on the wall of his office, his body frozen in place. For a man who was rarely caught off guard, the expression on his face said everything.
He was shocked. Pure, unfiltered shock.
The paused footage on the screen showed a still image taken straight from the conference room’s security camera -Cassienne towering over Tina. She looked composed even in violence, while Tina lay sprawled on the floor. The image alone told a story far more clearer than words ever could.
Dreston wasn’t the only one stunned.
Steve stood beside him, his arms crossed tightly over his chest, his brows furrowed as he replayed the scene in his mind. Neither of them spoke for several seconds.
“Has anyone else seen this clip?” Dreston finally asked, his voice low as he turned to the head of security standing near the door.
Nolan straightened. “No one outside the security unit, sir. Just my team. And the three of us.”
Dreston’s jaw tightened. “Good.” He turned back to the screen. “This doesn’t leave this room. Make sure of that.”
Nolan nodded immediately. “Yes, sir. I understand.”
“You can go,” Dreston added. “And thank you for bringing this to my attention.”
Nolan inclined his head once more and left the office quietly. The door shut behind him with a soft click, sealing the tension inside, and silence followed.
But Steve broke the silence. “What now?”
Dreston leaned back against his desk, bracing himself with both hands. His eyes remained fixed on the frozen image on the screen, he didn’t look away. Even now, he kept looking.
“Someone wiped the evidence we were originally looking for,” he said slowly. “Someone who knows Tina well.”
Steve’s eyes widened slightly. “And this video confirms it.”
Dreston nodded. “Tina is the one we’ve been looking for all along.”
A pause followed after that.
“It means Mrs. Tremont knew,” Steve said carefully. “She figured it out on her own… and chose to handle it herself.”
Dreston let out a long breath, running a hand through his hair, “That’s my conclusion too.”
He straightened. “I’ll deal with the rest later. We can’t afford any drastic moves right now–not with the tech expo this close. One wrong step could destabilize everything.”
Steve nodded. “Understood. I’ll be in my office.” Seven replied and turned to leave.
“Steve,” Dreston called.
Steve stopped. “Yes, sir?”
“I want two female bodyguards assigned to Cassienne. Starting today.” Dreston’s tone rang into Steve’s ears. “I

don’t care about the cost. Her safety is a priority.”
Steve nodded once. “I’ll handle it.”
As the door closed behind him, Dreston returned to his chair and sat down slowly, his thoughts tangled. He should be angry.
Cassienne had assaulted Tina inside the company building, right inside his building. That alone should have infuriated him.
But it didn’t. And that unsettled him more than the video itself.
Maybe it was because Tina had crossed a line first. Because whatever she did to Cassienne had left bruises that went far deeper than what the cameras captured. And for what?
Jealousy?
Dreston exhaled sharply. Things were spiraling, and all he wanted was for the upcoming tech expo to pass without disaster. Once that was done, he would deal with Tina.
Because lately, she was becoming a liability he wasn’t going to accept. She was getting on his nerves and something had to be done.
“Oh my God, Miss Ackley, what happened to your face?”
Janet’s voice echoed down the corridor, shock and concern written plainly across her features.
Kate, one of the developers walking beside her, stopped abruptly. “Miss Ackley, did someone hit you?”
Tina forced a tight smile. “I’m fine. I just… hit my face.”
Kate frowned. “Both sides?”
The question came out before she could stop herself, her eyes widening as she examined Tina more closely.
Tina didn’t answer.
Instead, she pressed a hand against her stomach, wincing slightly, and walked away without another word, leaving the two women behind. They were already whispering, already speculating.
As soon as she reached her office, Tina shut the door and locked it. She went straight into the restroom. The moment she looked into the mirror, her breath caught.
Her face was swollen. Both sides are red and unmistakably marked.
Her fingers curled into fists. How was this even possible? Did Cassienne have iron in her hands? How could a slap –just a slap–do this much damage on her face?
Her hands trembled as rage surged through her veins. Cassienne would pay for this.
There was no world in which Tina would let this slide. Let her enjoy her little victory. Let her feel powerful for
now.
