“You won’t despise her, and that’s all that matters! As long as she isn’t tied to Baron, and she forgets everything about the Stone family and Baron, she’ll revert to being the same orphan that was cast out from the Summers family five years ago! She’ll be like a fragile flower, relying solely on you for survival! Just think of the joy and beauty of those five years you shared!” Loretta’s voice was filled with a fervor that echoed in the dimly lit room.

As she spoke, the liquid in her hand was forcefully poured down Natalie’s throat.

The coarse action and the bitter liquid finally shocked Natalie awake, her senses jolted as she realized Loretta was compelling her to swallow something against her will.

Panic surged through her, and she thrashed violently, desperate to expel the liquid, but Loretta’s grip was unyielding. Loretta, too, was straining with effort. Upon seeing Natalie regain consciousness, she shouted toward Jensen, her voice laced with urgency.

“What are you doing just standing there? Get over here and help me hold her down!”

Natalie’s eyes flew open, and instinctively, she turned to Jensen, who was standing by, a silent witness to this nightmare.

The disappointment in her gaze pierced through him, and he instinctively turned his face away, though his hands were already gripping her legs tightly, pinning her down.

“Natalie! I’m so sorry! This drug will take effect quickly, and soon you won’t feel this pain anymore. We can return to how things were five years ago. You will be my one and only, my beloved. I swear I will never waver again; I will treat you with utmost care. No matter what happens to you, even if you become mentally impaired or simple-minded, I will cherish you as a precious treasure. We will spend our lives together, just you and me, okay?”

Jensen’s voice trembled, but he couldn’t bring himself to meet her eyes as he spoke.

Deep down, he was acutely aware of how despicable his actions were.

Once, he had looked down on people who resorted to such tactics, yet here he was, embodying the very thing he had despised. The shame washed over him like a cold wave, and he felt a profound disappointment in himself.

But what choice did he have?

He had lost everything.

He couldn’t compete with Baron, nor could he stand against the Stone family.

If he wanted to keep Natalie by his side, this was the only path left for him!

Natalie was bewildered by Jensen’s words but recognized the reality that something had been forced into her.

The liquid was cold, and as it slid down her throat, it left a strange clarity in its wake, with a faint undertone of mint lingering.

“What exactly did you just make me drink?” she demanded, anger bubbling within her.

“What could I possibly want? I have a loving husband, adorable children, and parents and brothers who cherish me. Why would I forget them to be with a man who betrayed me, harmed me, and nearly burned me alive?”

At the mention of the children, Jensen’s expression shifted, his eyes turning a fierce shade of red.

“How dare you mention the children!”

He seized Natalie by the neck, his grip tightening, veins bulging in his hand as anger coursed through him.

He glared at her, his eyes bloodshot as he spat out his accusations, “Five years ago, when you begged the Witch Doctor to save me, besides giving him a rib, did you sleep with him? Just tell me, did you? My suspicions were right all along, weren’t they? You cheated on me five years ago! Natalie, you were the one who wronged me first!”

Disappointment washed over Natalie as she stared at the man before her, her expectations shattered. Even so, Jensen’s slander ignited a fire of fury within her.

“Jensen, your thoughts are as filthy as they come. Don’t project your own moral decay onto me.”

“My thoughts are filthy? I admit I was involved with Sherry, but what about you? Why won’t you own up to it? Those twins are yours and the Witch Doctor’s children, aren’t they? They’re already so grown! And you still have the audacity to claim you didn’t cheat on me?”
