When She Rose From the Ashes (Natalie and Jensen) novel Chapter 608

**Chapter 608: My Love For You**

The air was thick with the warm, nostalgic scent of the jacket that enveloped Natalie like a comforting embrace, stirring memories and emotions she had long buried. Overwhelmed by the flood of feelings, she could no longer contain herself; the dam broke, and loud, heart-wrenching sobs erupted from her lips.

Baron, who had been preoccupied with thoughts of punishing Jensen for the pain he had inflicted, immediately shifted his focus upon hearing Natalie’s cries. The sound pierced through his thoughts like a siren, and without a moment’s hesitation, he turned and enveloped her in his strong arms, pulling her close.

“My Natalie, I’m so sorry! I came too late. Please, don’t cry! I swear, I’ll make that bastard Jensen pay for this—he will feel my wrath, and I’ll ensure he suffers,” Baron vowed, his voice thick with emotion as he gently patted her back, desperately trying to soothe her. A wave of self-reproach washed over him.

If only I had arrived just a little sooner, would she have been spared this pain?

At the same time, Jensen, who had been beaten to the brink of consciousness, felt a surge of intense jealousy as he witnessed the tender embrace between Baron and Natalie. In his twisted mind, she was meant to be his, and yet here was Baron, holding the woman he believed rightfully belonged to him.

“Baron, go to hell!” Jensen spat, his voice dripping with venom.

As if in a choreographed dance of betrayal, a dagger slipped silently from Jensen’s sleeve. With a swift motion, he lunged forward, aiming directly at Baron’s back.

“Baron, watch out!” Natalie cried out, her voice a desperate warning.

Baron, blissfully unaware of the danger lurking behind him, remained focused on comforting Natalie. But Natalie, facing Jensen, could see the malicious glint in his eyes, a stark contrast to the man she once knew. This was not the Jensen she had cared for; he had transformed into something dark and unrecognizable.

In a moment of instinctual bravery, Natalie yanked Baron to the side, their bodies twisting as they swapped positions in a frantic effort to protect him.

Then came the sickening thud—a blade plunging into flesh. Natalie felt the sharpness pierce her side, and her body slowly crumpled to the ground, the world around her blurring into chaos.

Everything transpired in a heartbeat; Baron was left stunned, unable to react as he turned to see Natalie faltering, blood seeping from her wound.

His eyes widened in horror, turning a deep shade of crimson as realization set in.

“Natalie! No! Natalie!” he shouted, panic gripping his heart.

Baron’s hand was soon slick with the warm, sticky fluid that poured from her wound, a sight he had encountered countless times in his life, yet never had he imagined witnessing such a gruesome scene with the love of his life.

“Jensen, I’m going to kill you!” Baron’s voice was a low growl, his eyes narrowing into slits as they bore into Jensen.

But Natalie, despite the agony coursing through her body, clung desperately to his arm, her grip a lifeline amidst the storm of pain.
