When She Rose From the Ashes (Natalie and Jensen) novel Chapter 606

**TITLE: HereSelf 606**
**CONTENT: Chapter 606 Never Giving Up**

Jensen lifted his arm, poised to deliver a harsh slap to Natalie, but as he held his hand suspended in the air, something stopped him cold.

He locked eyes with Natalie, her furious gaze ablaze with anger and streaked with tears, and in that moment, he faltered, unable to go through with the violent act.

“Natalie, listen to me,” he implored, his voice trembling with a mixture of desperation and pleading. “If you would just be honest with me, I swear I can overlook everything—even if you really did have children with the Witch Doctor. I understand why you did it; it was to save me. The blame lies with him, not you. Just… don’t hold my treatment of you against me, alright? I’ve lost everything that mattered to me. I can’t bear the thought of losing you too. You once loved me so deeply. If you could just let go of the hurt I caused, we could find our way back to each other, just like we did five years ago. Trust me, I will treat you right this time.”

Suddenly, a burst of laughter erupted from Natalie, sharp and jarring, as tears fell freely down her cheeks. Yet, the coldness in her eyes only intensified, a stark contrast to the laughter that filled the air.

“Be good to me?” she echoed, her voice dripping with sarcasm. “You think this is being good to me? You wanted to hit me, didn’t you? Go ahead! Do it!”

Her tone shifted, becoming razor-sharp and accusatory, catching Jensen off guard and forcing him to release her as confusion washed over him.

“Natalie, please don’t act like this. Once the medicine takes effect, I promise I will be good to you,” he stammered, his heart racing with anxiety, praying fervently for the amnesia drug to work quickly.

Loretta, witnessing the way Natalie spoke to Jensen while he stood there, unable to retaliate, felt a surge of anger. Without a second thought, she stepped forward and slapped Natalie hard across the face.

“Slut! How dare you speak to my son like that?” Loretta’s voice was a thunderclap, filled with fury. “Let me make this clear: once you lose your memory, the only person you can rely on will be my son. You better start showing him some respect from now on!”

“Mom—” Jensen began, alarmed by his mother’s actions.

But before he could finish, he turned to see Natalie’s face, only to find her violently pulling away from him.

“Get lost! Don’t touch me!” she shouted, her voice sharp and commanding. Inside, however, she was a whirlwind of panic.

*Is this dreadful amnesia drug truly going to work?* she thought, her heart racing with fear. *Am I really going to forget Baron and everyone else?*

She had once believed her feelings for Baron stemmed from gratitude, but now, faced with the possibility of erasing those memories, she realized just how deeply intertwined their lives had become.
