When the GF9 Test Subject Became His Obsession novel Chapter 148

Quinton didn’t dwell on the man leaving PCS. With his lawyer and bodyguards in tow, he marched into the precinct with great fanfare, determined to drag the culprit out himself.

The officer at the desk gave him a look like he was crazy.

“The higher-ups said these two don’t have the brains or the means to pull this off. You can take them and go.”

Quinton: Are you f*cking kidding me…

Was that supposed to be an insult?

Fuming, he stormed out of the precinct, finally exploding as he pulled out his phone and fired off a message to Serena:

“Serena, just you wait!”

A few words, typed through gritted teeth.

Serena read the message, her soft, pale face as calm as ever, then quietly blocked him.

Monday. A new week began.

Not many had seen the livestream the night before, but gossip moved fast. One became ten, ten became a hundred—by morning, the whole campus knew.

At 10 a.m., everyone was out on the field doing morning exercises. A convoy of luxury Land Rovers rolled through the school gates and came to a stop beneath the administrative building.

The field was right below, and nearly every student turned to stare.

The car doors opened, revealing students in uniforms from Evervale City’s elite Experimental Academy.

One student per vehicle. Ten Land Rovers. Ten students lined up in two columns. Between them, a black Cadillac. A bodyguard in black opened the door, and Quinton stepped out in sunglasses, looking like a wolf in designer clothing.

Through the tinted lenses, his gaze locked on Serena, who was mixed in with the crowd, watching with a lollipop in her mouth.

Her eyes were wide and clear, pure as glass. She licked the candy without a care, completely unaffected by his dramatic entrance.

Perfect.

Before morning exercises even ended, Serena was summoned to the office.

From a distance, she saw Taylor walking ahead of her. He must’ve sensed something, because he stopped and turned.

His eyes landed on the bracelet around her wrist.

It was the exact same design he had bought that day.

“You had it fixed?” he asked, testing the waters.

“Yeah.” Her voice was flat, but in Taylor’s heart, waves were crashing.

In that moment, he was sure—the hand he had grabbed when he collapsed, the bracelet he had seen… it had been hers.

“That day, was it you—”
