When the GF9 Test Subject Became His Obsession novel Chapter 77

The moment Serena stepped into the room, all eyes were on her.

The few students from Building B discreetly tried to cheer her on.

“Kelly, make sure you cover your paper later! Don’t let her see your answers!”

Kelly was seated just two rows behind Serena, one seat offset. Serena was in front, Kelly behind.

As soon as the test papers were handed out, a collective gasp echoed through the room.

The difficulty level was several notches above what they were used to.

Forget about Building B — even the top ten students from Building A were pulling their hair out.

Only Kelly remained calm as she started answering — multiple choice, short answers. She had practiced nearly all of these just yesterday. There were a few questions she didn’t understand, but she had Sequoia, a state-recognized top teacher, backing her.

She breezed through the front half with barely any mistakes and finished within fifteen minutes, while the rest of the room was still stuck on question three.

Her eyes sparkled with satisfaction. She couldn’t help glancing at Serena, who was already working on the long-form problems.

Kelly frowned. Was she just guessing on all the earlier questions?

This was why multiple choice questions shouldn’t carry so much weight — they were basically a free pass for slackers!

When she turned to the long-answer section, Kelly started writing — and immediately froze.

Her brain went blank. What did Serena write for this question?

It seemed like...

She plugged in Serena’s answer, ran the numbers, and realized that somehow, that girl had guessed it right.

While Kelly sat stuck, Serena had already finished writing. She stood up and walked over to turn in her paper.

Sequoia caught sight of a ten-point problem on her paper — and it was completely wrong.

“There’s still time. You could at least struggle a little,” he said sarcastically.

“No need,” Serena replied, grabbed her bag, and walked out of the classroom.

After two intense days of exams, the entire senior year was left in ruins.

“What the hell was up with those questions today? Every subject had brand-new question types. It’s like they didn’t want anyone to survive!”

“Natalie, I saw your paper — you basically filled out the whole thing. You’re totally gonna win that $3,000 prize! You have to take us out to eat!”

Natalie’s friends were full of confidence.

Serena happened to pass by and said lightly, “She’s not winning.”

They all blew up. “If she’s not, then who is? You?”

Rowan quickly pulled Serena aside to keep her from being targeted. “Serena, don’t compare yourself to the top students. Just focus on beating the bottom ones.”

Serena was speechless.

Sequoia patted her hand. “It’s alright. Just five points. Don’t stoop to competing with a cheater.”

Kelly nodded.

If the proctor said Serena cheated, then it must be true.

“So shameless! How does she manage to cheat every time?”

But some students began to question it.

“Have you ever seen someone cheat and still get first place in the whole school? Even if she copied Kelly, that’d only get her to 85.”

“She could’ve copied from someone else too — combine two answer sheets and pick the right ones.”

“She cheated and still knew which answers were right and which were wrong? That’s some next-level selective copying!”

The others were dumbfounded. Damn… that actually made sense.

Kelly’s face darkened slightly. She tucked her hair behind her ear and tried to calm herself.

“Did you guys go through the SAT question bank?” she asked.

“We can barely finish the Kaplan’s SAT Prep Plus. Who has time for that?”

Kelly said, “I just checked. The questions on this exam came from the new types in the SAT bank. If someone knew about it in advance, they’d have a huge advantage…”

Before she even finished, the students were already furious.
