When The Moon Hides Her Crown (Seraphina) by Pooja novel Chapter 286

THIRD PERSON POINT OF VIEW

Deep in the woods of the werewolf realm, the vampire couple lay in their own blood. The male vampire, his chest torn open, reached for his mate whose throat was being crushed beneath a strong foot, suffocating her.

“P-please…spare my mate…don’t kill her…” They had tried to escape, but had fallen into the clutches of a beast.

Above them, a half-shifted Ryker sharpened a wooden stake with his claws. His entire body was painted red with the blood of all the powerful people he killed but could not satisfy him. Instead it just made him dissatisfied and furious.

He murmured, “Then you should not have crossed my path, you see. Let alone daring to look in my eyes,” before aiming the wood at the woman’s head. “She’s not even pretty enough for me to leave her for a while. I just hate ugly women. So now, time to finish this eye sore,”

“NO! NO… WAIT!!” The vampire man screamed at the top of his lungs. “Y-you want a beautiful woman, right? I KNOW a woman! Beautiful like the moon. Like a goddess herself!”

Ryker froze at the mention of such beauty. He turned his piercing blue gaze to the vampire. “You’re telling me there’s such a woman? And you saw her?” His eyes were cold and deadly.

The vampire man breathed heavily, his desperation clear. “Yes, she lives away from people’s eyes. Some people blindfolded us and took us to her. She saved my mate’s life! But, as we were leaving, I slid the blindfold just for a second… and I saw her,” he paused, a deep breath escaping him, as Ryker’s expression wavered slightly, “She’s unlike anything I’ve ever seen. She’s... like a goddess.”

Seeing how the vampire’s eyes shined when he talked about her, Ryker tilted his head, intrigued. “Where is she?”

“I’ll tell you if you let us go,” the vampire man bargained, hope flickering in his eyes.

The corner of Ryker’s lips curled up as he pulled his foot from the vampire woman’s throat. The vampire man quickly slid closer to his mate, pulling her into his embrace. “She’s somewhere in the Blackpine forest…”

“Somewere?” Ryker raised his brows.

“Yeah, it is impossible to find her,”

As he finished speaking, Ryker stabbed the wooden stake through both their throats. Their bodies dropped lifeless, blood staining the forest floor.

He shifted back into his human form, gazing up at the moon. “Beautiful like the moon?” he murmured with a twisted smile. “A goddess, huh?” The corners of his lips curled up.

THE LYCAN KINGDOM

Petal stirred in the soft warmth of Dread's embrace as the cold wind outside fluttered the curtains. Her eyes fluttered open, and her red gaze met his violet one immediately—full of love and possessiveness. His thumb brushed gently across her cheek, a silent promise in his eyes.

"Good morning," he murmured, his voice rough yet tender.

She lay there, enveloped in his warmth with both of their naked body pressing together in the blanket after the last night steamy nonstop sex and placed her hand on his cheek. "Whenever I open my eyes, you're already awake and watching me. Don't you sleep?"

It had been over a month since they mated, and she had started spending nights with him in his kingdom whenever she visited. However, not once had she seen him sleep.

He kissed her hand and murmured, "I don’t know when you'll return next, so I can’t risk sleeping and losing the chance to see you."

She narrowed her eyes. "I literally return every two days."

Having finished her duties in the realm and temple, she would come to meet Dread and spend the whole day and night with him. And surely, both of them would not able to keep their hands to each other. Meanwhile in those days, he would also finish his kingdom’s affairs. They had been managing their relationship with their realms smoothly, but sometimes, Dread could be overly possessive.

Taking a shower, she dressed in a new, beautiful gown and left Elysium Haven. But this time, she didn’t go through the flower garden. He didn’t know she was coming before their scheduled time, and she wanted to surprise him. So, she decided to take the route through the forest. It would surely take several hours, but using her powers, she planned to make it quick and easy.

Imagining his happy face at her sudden visit, she couldn’t help but smile to herself as she walked through the dense forest toward the borders of her territory. That’s when a sudden groan stilled her.

The trees around her swayed slowly with the night wind, and the darkness curled around them as it always did. But a strange mist began to fill the surrounding area. She blinked at the unexpected fog as another groan caught her attention from ahead. She looked toward the mist where the sound was coming from.

She raised her legs and resumed her walk, the mist curling around her like an unwelcome touch. The groans grew louder as she neared the source, until a shadowed figure sitting on the ground, leaning against a tree, came into view.

“Who is there?” she asked, trying to make out the figure, but the mist made it difficult to see clearly.

When she received no answer, just more groaning, she stepped closer to get a better look. As the mist cleared, she found herself standing in front of a person wrapped in a blanket from head to toe. A sharp, acrid smell of burning flesh wafted from him.

Then the blanket shifted slightly, revealing his face. Petal gasped. Half of his face was burned, and his eyes were completely white—he was blind.

Panicking, she knelt in front of him and asked, “Are you okay?”

Ryker slowly lifted his eyes. His claws grew longer under the blanket, ready to tear into the delicious power that stood before him. But as soon as he saw Petal, his senses exploded.

He froze, drinking in the sight of her indescribable beauty, his breath catching in his throat.

The lust for power in his heart shifted into the burning desire to claim her.
