THIRD PERSON POINT OF VIEW
Sitting on his throne, Dread read Petal’s letter again and again rather than listening to his kingdom’s affair.
‘An urgent issue came up that I have to take care of. I will be back soon to visit you’
Dread clutched the letter a little harder than he intended as he murmured, “But it has been over a week,” he said to himself, displeasure and irritation of the separation from her bubbling up under his skin.
It had been two months now that they had been mated and he had made up his mind to see her every two days but spending a whole week apart seemed as if the universe was testing his sanity. Next he got up from his throne and left the room abruptly, leaving the lycans in the meeting confused.
Exiting the castle, he strode into the forest around his castle and went to the den, “Felix, it’s been a week already.”
The old wizard was sitting on the large stone in his cave and having his spell around Petal’s clothes that Dread gave him, "I was about to come to meet you, Lycan King,” he stood up and bowed.
“So what do you say? Can you make a portal in my room that connects to her room?” Dread asked.
Since both Petal and Dread had realms and responsibilities, Dread came up with the solution. He wanted a portal connecting both of their bedrooms that way Petal could return to him daily. No wait, no separation. They could be together and also manage their kingdoms.
The ninety nine year old wizard that he had sheltered in his lands for years, working only for Dread and was actually capable of creating portals. Dread wanted him to create one that would solve all their problems.
“I looked into her aura and scent in her clothes,” Felix started, “it is so pure and sacred that every time I put my spell around it, I get distracted by the strength and power her aura holds. This woman does not seem like an ordinary person, my King. I felt countless powers protecting her silently my King, moreover her own energy was deadly if I failed to read anything important within her aura. To make the portal, first I have to understand her energy more and figure out the place where she lives. On top of that, to my understanding the place she belongs to is holy and forbidden. Kindly grant me some more time.”
Dread silently touched Petal’s clothes. In reality, he knew where she came from. He had figured it out long ago that she was the hidden queen of the werewolf realm. However as they spent more time together, she had told him that she lived in the temple and her kingdom was the palace called Elysium Haven. But Dread did not wish to tell such details to Felix or anyone for that matter.
He did not know everything about her temple and Elysium Haven but he had a feeling that his soulmate was hidden from the world for a reason. And if he were honest with himself, he did not want anyone to see Petal. The mere thought of Petal being seen by another man just triggered the worst part of him.
In this world he was ready to face even these few days of separation but not sharing her. Not losing her.
At the same time, Ryker, who had only just woken up, sat on the bed, his entire body wrapped in special white straps designed to heal his burns. His injuries were the result of stepping into the Black Pine Forest territory. He had never expected such strong divine energy at the borders, it had immediately reacted with his black magic. If he hadn’t been the King of Black Magic, he would have been killed instantly, instead of merely suffering this damage.
However, his eyes remained fixed on Petal, who sat in the chair across from his bed.
“So, who are you?” Donna, standing beside Petal, asked. “How did you get burned so badly that it blinded you?” She stared intensely at his white eyes. “How did you enter the territory without being noticed?”
Ryker stayed silent, never tearing his gaze from Petal. Her godly figure and breathtaking scent captivated him. Had he not seen it with his own eyes, he never would have believed such beauty could exist. The beast within him stirred, dark desire burning.
“Why don’t you talk?” Donna frowned. “Your life was saved after seven days of nonstop treatment! Is this how you show your gratitude?”
“I will show my gratitude to the one who saved my life, and that’s definitely not you,” Ryker replied, his voice low, deep, and heavy. His eyes continued to drink in Petal’s beauty as she remained silent, watching him. “And I’m waiting for that person to speak,” he added, his words heavy with meaning.
Donna frowned, about to respond, but Petal interrupted. “Donna, leave us alone.”
Donna, surprised for a moment, nodded and followed the command. As two of them were alone, a heavy silence fell between Ryker and Petal.
“I know you can see me,” Petal began, her voice calm.
