When The Moon Hides Her Crown (Seraphina) by Pooja novel Chapter 295

THIRD PERSON POINT OF VIEW

The clearing in the Blackpine Forest fell silent as everyone focused on Ronan, who lay on the ground, his lower body fading into the white-blue energy emanating from the Moonstone in his right palm.

"So Alpha Ronan, Seraphina and Ryker’s history is from nine hundred years ago?” Alpha Gideon’s voice was full of disbelief.

No one missed how Aran's fists clenched in response.

"Of course, Ryker should have been dead but he was here not long ago and took Seraphina away," Alpha Hugo’s voice was still shaking.

Alpha Darious interjected, "Also, why is there no mention of Ryker Wraithe in the history records?”

"He wiped away any records of him, obviously," a voice, deep and calm, broke the silence.

Everyone's gaze shifted toward the old man entering the clearing, walking with an oddly straight back, despite the wrinkles of his age.

"Felix," Aran recognized him immediately.

The others followed Felix's movements, but his sharp eyes went straight to Grace. "But it seems Percy was a bit careless while wiping away the traces of his Alpha. Ryker Wraithe's remains ended up in a college student's notes.

"Wait a minute," Spencer blurted out, his voice filled with disbelief. "Even nine hundred years ago, this wizard was ninety-nine years old, and he's still...that old?" His eyes darted toward Aran, his question reflecting everyone’s confusion. "And you—you look like you're in your early thirties, just like Silas, but you know everything from nine hundred years ago. What's going on?"

Aran swallowed hard, the weight of the truth pressing on him. "We were all cursed," he quietly admitted. "Everyone connected to Blood Petal and Dread Lord was cursed for nine hundred years. For us time stood still. No one aged. No one died. But everyone forgot what Blood Petal and Dread Lord looked like. No one remembered they were soulmates. We even forgot Ryker Wraithe’s name. All that was left were fragments in our memories of their appearance. And no one was allowed to speak of them. That, I believe, is what happened to Ryker Wraithe as well..." His gaze shifted toward Ronan. "That's why Ryker didn’t recognize the Lycan King, Dread Lord, as Ronan Volkstane when they met at the Academy. And that’s why it took him so long to realize that Seraphina, disguised as Seth Darven, was actually Blood Petal."

"So the ritual that was performed on the she-wolves hadn't just happened for decades, but for centuries. Probably for nine hundred years or so..." Alpha Jude guessed, his voice filled with realization.

Grace nodded, adding, "And through this ritual, he’s been creating the living womb for his own return every few centuries. He would seek out Blood Petal. No, he would seek the fetus that absorbed the white flower. And when he didn’t find it, he would vanish. Probably unable to maintain life beyond twenty-five years or so, for some reason..."

Spencer furrowed his brows. "If that’s the case, then how did he not know that the Blood Petal had already left the secret chamber of the Lupine Academy, and that it had been absorbed by Alpha Darious Nightbane’s Luna? Alpha King Charles was undoubtedly working under him, following his orders, because Charles was just a puppet to Ryker. So why didn’t Ryker know that the Blood Petal had already been absorbed, and that it was Seraphina?"

As he finished speaking, Asher’s eyes flicked to Finn, who was observing Ronan closely.

"Charles seems to have become greedy for the throne in Ryker’s absence," Finn met Asher’s gaze. "He knew that if Ryker found Blood Petal, Ryker would take over the throne. That’s why Charles lied to Ryker and kept the Blood Petal’s true identity as Seraphina a secret. But the moment Ryker uncovered Charles’ lie, his fate was sealed. Charles wasn’t meant to live past the designated age, just like the previous kings. Thanks to Ryker’s influence, he ensured that the puppet kings would be controlled. And for his act of betrayal, Charles became a part of the ritual to awaken Ryker."
