Lemira was taken aback by what she just witnessed.
As people began to gather around, Asher let out a cold snort. “Orion, what exactly are you trying to do?”
Evelina looked frightened, her voice trembling. “Mr. Everhart, what is the meaning of this?”
Evander added, “Lemira, do you realize what you’re doing is against the law?”
Lemira’s lips curled into a cold, mocking smile. “I know.”
“And yet you’re still doing it?”
“But weren’t you all enjoying yourselves just a moment ago when you were playing dirty tricks?” she replied.
Lemira turned to the Langston family. “No matter what he does, he has the power to deal with the consequences. But you? You don’t.”
She walked up to Asher, looking him straight in the eye. “This is Orvin. If you don’t have power or influence here, you have no choice but to bow your head.”
Asher clenched his jaw in anger.
“What’s wrong? Does hearing that make you angry? Make you uncomfortable?”
Lemira’s gaze was filled with open mockery as she watched Asher’s reaction.
Forcing down his fury, Asher said, “Lemira, what do you actually want?”
“You don’t need to ask her—ask me,” Orion interrupted, stepping beside Lemira and staring down Asher. “Aren’t you always the one who loves using your status to suppress Lemira? Well, today, you get to experience what that’s like.”
He reached for Lemira’s hand and stepped back with her.
Immediately, the bodyguards forced the Langston family members to the ground.
Asher tried to resist. “Let go! You have no right to do this!”
A bodyguard delivered a sharp kick to the back of Asher’s knee, forcing him to kneel.
Meanwhile, Evelina and Evander had already been pinned to the floor.
Evelina’s face was streaked with tears as she pleaded, “Lemmy, I know you’ve never liked me, but you can’t humiliate Asher and Evander like this.”
Lemira looked down at the Langstons from above. “No wonder you all like making people kneel and apologize. Turns out it feels pretty good—especially seeing how unwilling you are to do it.”
Asher glared up at Lemira. “I’m still your brother!”

“No need,” Asher snapped, still fuming. “Even if the Langston Group goes bankrupt, I’ll never stoop to begging them!”
Evelina looked genuinely anxious.
But Asher turned and stormed off, his retreating figure as pitiful as a drenched stray dog.
Evelina was left frustrated. Evander tugged her sleeve. “Let’s just go. Do you really want to stay here and be humiliated?”
Reluctantly, Evelina followed, thinking to herself that the Langston Group couldn’t go under yet—otherwise, how would she get any money?
Lemira watched the Langstons’ defeated retreat and said, “I never thought I’d see the day Asher ended up like this.”
The more arrogant Asher was before, the more pathetic he looked now.
Orion glanced at her. “I’m sorry. I should’ve arrived earlier at the last party.”
“This had nothing to do with you,” Lemira replied.
She knew that everything that happened today was thanks to Orion.
Just then, the mayor approached and said, “Mr. Everhart, I promise to thoroughly investigate what happened at the showcase and give you a full account.”
