Should she expose Cheryl to Yosef?
She decided to wait and see. If Cheryl left her alone, she would let it be. But if she caused trouble… then she would have no problem tattling.
Unable to sleep, Henrietta impulsively navigated to Yosef’s Facebook profile. What she saw made her gasp. She had never expected this. Not in a million years.
Yosef had changed his header photo. It used to be Y-N Group logo. Now, it was a picture of their wedding rings. Not a photo of them on their hands—they had never taken one—but a picture of the open red ring box, displaying the pair of rings nestled inside.
Henrietta’s lips curved into a soft smile. He really was… something else.
And that wasn’t all. He also had a pinned post. It was a photo of the cover of his marriage certificate, closed. Just one, his. It was a simple, artistic shot of the certificate against a stark white background. The caption was as cool and concise as he was. A single word: “Finally.”
Finally what, she didn't know. Was it that he had finally completed the essential life task of getting married? Or that he had finally married the person he wanted to marry? Or something else entirely? Only he knew.
Henrietta stared at it for a long time, not bothering to guess.
Now that they were friends with the four assistants, she could see their comments. A neat row of identical messages: “Congratulations, Mr. Nash. Wishing you a lifetime of happiness.”
Even Cheryl had no choice but to copy and paste the same sentiment.
Henrietta had no way of knowing who else Yosef had allowed to see the post, but it didn't matter. The fact that he had posted it at all, and that it wasn't just a show for her alone, was enough.
She hadn’t posted anything, yet he had. And she was only just now seeing it. Should she post something too?
Henrietta thought about it for a while before deciding against it. She didn’t know what to say. Maybe later, after she’d had a few days to think. She wanted to choose her words carefully.
Some things deserved to leave a mark on one's life. Like her career—it had been dormant, but the moment she decided to revive it, she knew she wanted to create something meaningful. Marriage was the same. Even if she treated it like a simulation game, it deserved her full effort. To build a marriage, to craft it with her own hands… that sounded incredibly interesting. She wasn’t asking for much. Just to live a life without regrets.
Lying in his bed, the faint, clean scent of him filled her senses. Tonight, Henrietta found it hard to sleep. Her mind was racing with scattered thoughts. And then, one particular thought surfaced, something she hadn’t understood at the time. Something he had said. She hadn't had time to dwell on it then, but now it came back to her.
Right before he put the wedding ring on her finger, he had said, “Henrietta, thank you for accepting me.”
A man of his stature should have had everything. If he wanted, he could have any woman in the world. Women would be falling over themselves for a chance. So why had he said that?
