When Two Winters Met (Henrietta and Yosef) novel Chapter 130

The sense of triumph she felt from having won him over other women, his legions of adoring fans, was a feeling she savored.

But for now, she was being completely crushed by Henrietta, and it made her furious every single day. The mere thought of Henrietta sent her into a rage.

Artina wiped away the last of her tears and said reluctantly, “Just get it done with her, quickly.” Her voice then dropped to a vicious, venomous whisper. “Every bit of humiliation I suffer now, I will repay to her a thousand times over. I’ll have her sold to an underground club in Juno City, turn her into a whore for everyone to ride! I want to watch her get used by countless men every day, toyed with, humiliated, and trampled until they play her to death!”

Her voice was thick with hatred.

“Then you’d better cooperate,” Matteo said. “Apologize properly. Do whatever she asks. You started the rumor, so you’re in the wrong. You have no choice but to be obedient. So, swallow your pride, don’t provoke her, and don’t let her suspect anything. Otherwise, we’re both finished! In Juno City, she could crush us without even trying.”

Artina’s face was a mask of malice, but she could only nod. “I know, Matteo.”

Matteo glanced at her, saying nothing more. He had his own calculations to consider. He was tied to Artina, and for now, he couldn’t just kick her to the curb. He still needed her. They were, for the time being, bound together.

As a celebrity, he had to keep his personal life private. His relationship with Henrietta had been a secret, and his involvement with Artina was no different. Artina was also an actress on the rise, so she too had to hide her relationships. Their situations were identical, which meant they both had leverage over the other, creating a codependent bond where they would rise or fall together.

Besides, he was a normal man of twenty-five with normal physical needs. Needs that were a top priority. He had only been with two women since college: Henrietta and Artina.

Henrietta had been out of pure love. He thought he had won the goddess. But he later discovered that this goddess was so high and mighty, she couldn’t be bothered to satisfy the ordinary needs of an ordinary man.

Artina, on the other hand, had been purely physical at first. The first time she confessed her feelings to him in private, she had boldly touched him, kissed him, and offered her body to him. It didn’t matter that she wasn’t a virgin. It was better than sleeping alone. Artina satisfied him both emotionally and physically.

Even now, as she spewed her venomous fantasies about Henrietta, he couldn’t bring himself to leave her. He needed her. The emotional validation he never got from Henrietta, he found with Artina. Even though Artina fought with him, she always came back, always submitted. She loved him, and she couldn't leave him.

But he had a plan. If… if Henrietta came back to him, if she became gentle, obedient, and loved him enough, he would love her back with everything he had. He had loved her so much before. It was her own fault for not being good enough, not being obedient enough. If she could just learn to love him properly, he would dump Artina without a second thought.
