When Two Winters Met (Henrietta and Yosef) novel Chapter 135

But after careful consideration, she knew she still had to say it.

Looking at the devastatingly handsome man on the screen, Henrietta began, “This is something I should have brought up from the very beginning. Saying it now feels a bit like closing the barn door after the horse has bolted.”

“It’s fine,” Yosef said, a brow raised in curiosity. “Tell me.”

“It should have been done before we registered our marriage,” she explained, “but at the time… it didn’t cross my mind. I only thought of it later, and then you were always so busy, so it got delayed.”

“I understand,” he said. “So, what is it?”

“A prenuptial agreement.”

Yosef paused for a moment, genuinely surprised. This was the last thing he had expected her to bring up. A slow smile spread across his face.

“Of course, I know it sounds ridiculous now,” Henrietta rushed to add. “You’ve already given the wedding gifts, and only now am I mentioning this. But I still think we should do it. When you get back, we can have it notarized.”

Yosef’s expression was gentle, his voice calm but firm. “Henrietta, we are husband and wife. I, Yosef Nash, do not require a prenuptial agreement when I take a wife.”

Now it was Henrietta’s turn to be stunned. A prenup should be done before marriage, but it wasn’t unheard of to do it after. His gifts had been incredibly generous, but those could be handled separately. His business empire, however, was vast, with Y-N Group at its core. Without a prenup…

Yosef loosened his tie, his eyes fixed on her. “Have I done something to make you feel this is necessary?”

“No, not at all,” Henrietta said quickly, shaking her head. “You’ve been wonderful.”

A hint of a smile touched his lips. “Then don’t think about it. From the moment you said yes, half of Y-N Group became yours.”

His words sent a jolt through her, and her heart began to beat faster. Half of Y-N Group? His entire company was half hers?

Seeing her astonished expression, Yosef’s smile deepened. “It became effective the moment our marriage was official. I have no need for a legal document to protect myself from my own wife.”

He sat there, the picture of calm and control. “Even if our marriage were to fail, that half is a price I am more than willing to pay.”

Henrietta gasped. For all her usual composure, she was so stunned she couldn’t speak. She just stared at him, dumbfounded.

So… she hadn’t married a man. She’d married a money god. His generosity was staggering. This, she realized, was what true magnanimity looked like.

She felt like a schoolgirl in his presence. She had thought she was being mature and high-minded by suggesting a prenup, showing she wasn’t after his fortune. She certainly didn’t need it. But Yosef had just shown her what it truly meant to think big.

For a moment, she had the absurd urge to stop calling him Mr. Nash and start calling him Midas.

Seeing her dazed expression, the amusement in his eyes grew. “Henrietta?” he prompted gently.

She snapped back to reality, still at a loss for words. It was the same feeling of speechlessness she’d imagined Hector felt when presented with the merger contract.
