“Good,” Yosef nodded, a smile still playing on his lips.
Just then, Cheryl appeared. “Mr. Nash,” she said, bowing respectfully, “the meeting is about to begin.”
Yosef acknowledged her with a nod.
Henrietta’s eyes remained fixed on Yosef’s face, ignoring Cheryl completely. “You should get going, then.”
“Alright,” Yosef said simply. “Rest well.”
“You too.” Henrietta reached to end the call.
“Aren’t you forgetting something, my dear wife?” Yosef asked suddenly.
Henrietta paused, then remembered. Oh, the goodnight kiss. They had video calls every day, but he didn’t always ask for one. And she had never offered one on her own.
“Right,” she said, her lips quirking. “Good night.” She pressed her fingers to her lips and blew a kiss at the screen.
“You can hang up now,” Yosef said, satisfied.
Henrietta ended the call and fell back onto her bed with a soft sigh. Just like that, half of Y-N Group was hers? And she could keep it even if they divorced? It felt like a dream.
...
Yosef stood up, ready for his meeting.
Cheryl couldn’t help but comment, “The young missus doesn’t seem to miss you at all. If it were Ms. Leland, she would have flown here to be with you by now.”
Yosef ignored her completely, turning instead to Calvert. “Condense my schedule. We’re returning in two weeks. Also, prepare to restructure the company. We’re shifting our main focus back to our home country. Leslie and Marlin can manage the overseas operations for now.”
“Yes, sir,” Calvert said with a nod. “Are you eager to get back to your wife, Mr. Nash?”
Yosef started walking. “It’s not about being eager. I took a wife. I can’t be expected to live like a monk.”
